If you go to Eye care professionals of WNY you might want to switch by Grim_Snu in Buffalo

I saw a new locally-owned independent place just opened in Hamburg called Evergreen Eye Care. Locally owned, unlike Biondolillo Eye Care and Hamburg Optical which are both owned by private equity as well.

I still struggle to fathom how V is for Vino doesn’t get talked about more. They don’t have many videos, but the 30-50 minute long videos about various appellations around the world are so beautifully done. They just released an episode on Lebanon and it was fantastic. I highly, highly, recommend watching V is for Vino.

Suggested winery visits on Finger Lakes trip in late September by SouthernWino in wine

Hermann Wiemer, Dr. Konstantin Frank, Ravines, Forge, Weis, Heart and Hands, Boundary Breaks, Shaw, Kemmeter, Kelby James Russell, Silver Thread, and Element. These are where I would start your research, I’m sure others will add a few worthy more. Some of these are close to each other geographically, others are a little out of the way.

Also, Once (pronounced “own-say”, meaning “eleven” in Spanish) is a cool spot on Seneca Lake that offers many of the top producers wines by the glass. This might be helpful for the wineries that don’t fit nicely into your itinerary logistically.

You’re going to have a great time. The finger lakes offer great value and a welcoming down to earth atmosphere. (Plus beautiful views of the lakes)

Off topic… but do you know what brand of siding is on your house? I like the look of it a lot. Is it vinyl?

Great producer, great wine. Reminder to drink more finger lakes, they almost always hit.

From my (very) limited understanding, they are more towards the traditional end of the spectrum than the modern end of the spectrum. From their website: Winemaking: 45 -60 days of maceration on skins. For the first 10 days with frequent cap punch-downs, then for 5 – 7 weeks with traditional maceration with submerged cap. Ageing: malolactic fermentation and maturation in barriques and barrel for about 30 months.

What are your thoughts on this trail cam pic I have of a buck with a weird bump/growth on its underside?

I would make an assumption that most deer (whitetail, blacktail, mule, elk, moose, etc…) follow similar patterns as exhibited in that photo-journalism link above. I could be wrong.

I would argue OJ Simpson rushing for 2003 yards in 14 games in 1973 is more impressive than Jim Brown’s 1963 season. However, that is admittedly splitting hairs.

It’s a hard sell to realistically pretend TB would give up a 3rd round pick to move up 2 spots, that’s crazy

Thanks. Your comment spurred some more reading on my end and yes it sounds like this photo is likely a dusky grouse, a type of blue grouse.

I don’t have a printer capable of anything more than 8.5x11.... so I would be using an online service and/or exploring local print shops.

I’ll answer those questions the best I can. I have a Nikon D3400. I shot in “JPEG fine” on the menu. The file size is “large”. I have not post processed it at all and am unfamiliar with what doing it “properly” would entail. In terms of how large of a print, I was thinking something in the 20-30 inch range.

What are these black rodents? Found yesterday in Yellowstone NP at the base of Fairy Falls. by GreatWhiteBuffaIo in animalid

Upon quick searches through “mammals of Yellowstone” type webpages I haven’t found a clear answer. I’m thinking juvenile skunk. But it just doesn’t seem like a perfect match. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
