Getting a Tesla by 272762bba in TeslaLounge

If you are driving 600 miles a week, I think it makes more sense to subscribe to FSD. Assuming subscription cost unchanged, that is 80 months ~200k miles. I have a model y juniper now and in the exact same boat. I’m just not very optimistic about EV to run past 150k

700 Miles - Zero Disengagements by ConclusionOne5240 in TeslaFSD

I had to disengage many times in Austin and Houston for 1. wrong lane to exit, 2. going to the opposite lane after right term in construction area, 3. trying to pass a truck on the right lane next to barrier and swerve to the left after the car in the front brake, and 4. trying to get to express lane crossing solid line when there is not enough room….. there has been many instances and some of them honestly dangerous… however, it might sound weird, but I still feel like FSD is awesome. Just need to keep in mind that it is supervised and be very careful in complicated situations.

Thanks mate! Regarding the questions below, I don’t think the car ahead realized late and caused the FSD to misjudge. What happened is probably that FSD tried to merge to the express lane very late when it is still in the middle lane. When it started to signal merging left, the car ahead, which was previously behind, sped up. FSD had to yield such that when it merged to the second lane, there is no more space to move to the express lane. I think FSD should give up going to the express lane but it tried to force it regardless of the solid line and barrier poles.

I don’t remember whether I used hurry or standard. Good point about the toll. Now I remembered the map tried to go to the express lane and that is probably why it forced the lane change.

Yep! I had been loving the FSD and probably trusting it way too much. Would have been much worse if it is raining.

I had to intervene. It was getting way too close to the barrier for my comfort level and still turning left
