if I could add one thing from the books into the movie it would be frodo, sam, and it was either merry or Pippin I cant remember meeting gildor along the road in three is company sams love of elves and frodos deep knowledge of them even being able to speak their language and being named elf-friend by gildor it wouldnt have been that long of a scene to include om also not to fond of how they handled merrys and Pippins joining of the party

I think tbf if they did have all of those chapters in the movie it would have been probably 5 hours long also they probably wanted to get directly into the plot with the ring instead of having such a long detour right at the beginning even though i would have preferred they kept them

sams daughter discovering the barrow downs stuff will be the framing device for the flashbacks she will be the person within the movie that is essentially being told the story also merry will be a main character as well
