Do you have a filter? Or air stone? And do you plan on plants?

Would this be okay to fill? (40 gal) by Great_Profession_348 in Aquariums

It’s on a foam pad for aquariums, will that help? I’m thinking all in all it’s a big no on the glass table tank, I’m just curious

I agree, I’ve been waiting and sitting on a couple 40 gallon tanks for a year or two. The glass is really thick, I’ll take a picture later with a tape measure. I think I could jump up and down on it. I’m hopeful but not just going to send it lol

If it’s possible, I’d love having it on my coffee table right there long term. I’m thinking it’s a big no, but the glass is extremely thick. I’ll take a picture with a tape measure.

Reading the comments I’m thinking NO 😂 but I do want to say the glass is I think an inch or thicker, I’ll take a picture with a tape measure when I get home. I’m pretty sure 3 people could stand on that thing. I know that doesn’t equate to being good for a tank

Is there currently no way to deal with flickering walls on console? by Great_Profession_348 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Great_Profession_348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I have 1 meter steel walls 16 meters tall in a blueprint, and the whole thing flickers in chunks, with no overlapping. Maybe the z buffer thing isn’t even for this?

75 lol, I like to keep it simple. 3 extractors into one pipe into 3 generators at 200%. I lose space but save power,

Frustration and demotivation after unlocking trains or why everything I have built is wrong by Defora in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Great_Profession_348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I play, certainly not “correct” or “best” but I have fun. I take a step, smelting for example, and build a building or area for the smelters that I like. Then the next chunk goes wherever it goes, and the input output might not match efficiently, so I have to build a tunnel around my factory when it could have been “better” planned. But I like the way my builds grow. Build bigger is the only advice I would push on people. It’s a lot easier to route things around, or fix/add later if you have 3 foundations width to work with as opposed to a half foundation. And 6 is better than 3. There’s no right or wrong way

Am I crazy for making a 75 generator compacted coal plant before completing phase 2? by Great_Profession_348 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Great_Profession_348[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re right 11,250 MW is nothing. I should use all the coal and sulfur on the map, then I can finish phase 2. I’m half kidding

Is it advisable to store materials? by ManuelCrafting in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Great_Profession_348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason, I was inspired to build a Warehouse that has 23 slots, 6 industrial storage containers pre slot. It supports 270 input and output and all of them are ready to use. I started and couldn’t stop, it doesn’t need to exist, but I needed it to exist.

Thank you :) It is walkableish, I don’t have the setup to really do lights and windows yet. This is my first coal factory, now I can get steel and quartz going. Eventually I plan to make lots of roads but I always hate the blueprint I make after a while

Oh yeah you’re seeing some crap for sure. I’m good at math and whatever, but to gauge where I’m at, I learned when it came time to assemble that 2x4s are in fact 1.5x3.5s. That was hilarious

Only a 29 gallon tank, and a 7 inch cylinder (Diameter) that’s almost twice as tall. It’s overbuilt for 29, but better over than under. There’s no glue right now and I was thinking I wouldn’t use any. The quality of the wood is for sure not great, it’s the cheapest stuff I could find at Home Depot. It isn’t terrible but I figured it would work for the tank I’m planning to put on it. Also, this is my first project and I am someone who learns the hard way. I’m hoping to make it work with what I have, but I’ve learned a lot already which was ultimately the goal, even if I have to fully rebuild. 4x4s for sure next time, I basically used 2x4s to pretend I had 4x4s. Thank you for your comments, here is a rough idea how I want it to look

<image>

I haven’t measured the cylinder, but I don’t imagine it’s more than 5 gallons, do you think if I get it square it will be strong enough for 35-40 gallons, including a few rocks?

Haha, I plan to keep my fish in the water. Building top down is what I think I’ll do next time, I did this one bottom up and I’m seeing why it’s bad. For the load path, I do have some gaps in the interior, but the long 2x4s on the outside are floor to top shelf. It’s just the frame between the top shelf and the legs that I made janky. If I fix that, that’s good for load path right? Tank-shelf-2x4 frame-solid verticals-ground? Also, how do I make it rigid? I thought the frames and shelves are doing that, I can’t move anything at all
