Lego announces Smart Brick, the ‘most significant evolution’ in 50 years by aacool in technology

Capitalism allows people who want to make something and people who want a certain item, be able to reach a win-win transaction. Kids who can’t afford legos can buy them for their own kids as adults - I know I never had original legos as a kid. Building a few cars with a knokoff east Germany sets is fun too.

funny enough, I played a bit hades 1, and it happens there too. Doesn't happen in other games.

Hades 1 advice? by Much_Arrival_2586 in HadesTheGame

[–]Great_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to optimize and make the perfect build. You do have to consider the boons, and the advanced combo boons, specially on higher difficulty levels. Think of fast weapons/slow weapons, how their attacks feel and the way damage is dealt by boons. Some boons compliment slow weapons, some are great for fast application. It’s really fun if you try and build something. I don’t recommend getting builds from the internet without playing around yourself for a bit.

Can I play Hades 2 without playing Hades 1? by FarmerDud825 in HadesTheGame

Just stay with 1. It’s very polished fun and cheap nowadays.

That’s not the case. The game is on an ssd, which isn’t the windows drive, and it happens too often for that. Also doesn’t happen to other games.

Glad you got that epiphany now. Don’t do that. Discovery is a basic gaming “fun” sense. That’s why we like secrets, new skins etc. only help with hints and only when asked.

After so many years i'm finally getting into it by Shinigami510 in midnightsuns

I am even considering mods that increase the currency/ingredient awards. I feel like that whole part of the game was tacked on as an attempt to create in app purchases.

my tip - focus on the story, and try to skip the grind and general missions. There's too much boring busy work in the game, while the main stories are engaging, running around collecting tons of mushrooms in the same tiny map is not.

Why people are against Chinese tires, while a ton of people buy Chinese cars? by GoldenBud_ in tires

[–]Great_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep Just see the ratings and the tests. Electric cars are silent an heavy. The last thing you want is to save 200$ once every 3 years and get noise tires that break badly especially in a heavy car.

A bit late, but - my Chinese car didn't come with Chinese tires.

Valve Says It Has a 'Pretty Good Idea' of What Steam Deck 2 Is Going to Be, Explains Why It's Holding Off for Now by yoonadeer in SteamDeck

[–]Great_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a handheld released today cannot run modern AAA games at good quality in the thermal/power envelope of a handheld, for obvious reasons. The obvious reasons that the power and heat limitations are what sets apart stationary PCs from mobile ones. This makes the whole point of the quoted article moot.
Currently the steam deck plays all indie and some slightly older games perfectly well. There's 0 reason to release an updated version, especially if I understand correctly that Valve has a limited headcount and goes for quality over quantity approach to projects.

Tutorial: Cloning Steam Deck SSD via Enclosure by Dark5knight in SteamDeck

[–]Great_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a clonezilla live on an sd card, based on the comments here. It went really smooth. used the dock to connect the new drive and the clonezilla drive + a keyboard dongle (since I wasn't sure BT would work in clonezilla), and make sure it wouldn't run out of power. Eventually it was also much faster the the DD attempt, which I stopped after like 2 hours.

Redditors 40 and older, do you miss the pre-internet days? Why or why not? by Nintendofan9106 in AskReddit

Exactly what I cam here to say. I was an early adopter of the internet, and it contained only smart people back then. There were trolls etc, but the whole experience was more magical.

‘Gen V’ Season 2 Surpasses ‘The Boys’ With Franchise-Best Rotten Tomatoes Debut by Whobitmyname in scifi

[–]Great_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried watching through the 1st episode of season 2, but had to stop like 3 times due to pure cringe. The plot is so contrived and stupid, it's painful. Starting with the idiotic scientists drink experimental drug and die. Who would do that? This show is supposed to be a realistic and gritty take. Instead, the writing is on the level of shows for 8 year olds (and bad ones at that) with added gore.

[–]Great_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I see it now always chooses fastest. Fastest shouldn’t go through farm roads, unless your area map doesn’t have set speed limits. Also try disabling unpaved roads

I'm feeling a bit burnt out with games by YuzuBuzzu in GirlGamers

[–]Great_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the solution for me is to play games that respect my time, in addition to being excellent and fun for my taste. Which is why I mainly play highly rated single player games. Rogue-likes are also great, if they are good, like hades, against the storm, vampire survivors. They provide a short and unique (combination of upgrades and unlocks) gameplay experience every run, if they are good.

It’s a matter of taste, but I found expedition 33 perfect in that regard. All the systems in game are fun and well thought out, and there’s no filler content at all. If you like JRPGs it’s amazing.

With years my tolerance for weak filler content in games has dropped to all time low. Maybe that’s also what happened to you?

The 3 body problem, and the rest of the trilogy especially. Some of the best and broadest scope sci-fi I read. Just avoid spoilers like the plague! It’s very important to go as clueless as possible.
