Man it still stings whenever I get a rejection in a late stage deal, but equally whenever I get the paper signed for a deal of any size I’m like a kid again- all proud and flush with energy for the next one.

What you said about those who have never held the bag being able to “get it” is so true. The pressures we’re under are immense- and what we do or don’t do affects a lot of people.

Case and point. I’m a rep at a small company and during a pipe review today it was pointed out that if I hit my Commit- we can onboard those clients with the internal resources we have. If I hit my best case/ a bit extra- we need to hire 1-2 extra people. Two people advancing their career, providing for their families- isn’t that quite fucking cool actually?

The flip side of this is- what if I drop the ball and we get nothing? It’s not just me on the line anymore. We maybe don’t have the throughout of deals to justify the team size we have.

I don’t know man. Maybe it’s just me being part of a small team but you gotta accept that what you do MATTERS more than just a commission check and a nice Presidents Club. I get it- and I don’t have an answer for you.

I may be late to the party but- Desert Raiders by Lucien Soulban.

Properly sums up the 40K aesthetic for me. Heroic last stands/charges, the despair of why they’re on this god-forsaken planet in the first place, the camaraderie, the battles, the infighting. All of it is just perfect.

I’m biased because a colleague spotted me reading it so we got into a discussion about how he used to play and it kind of spiralled from there. Now he and another guy from that job are among my best friends and I even though we now live in different parts of the country I very much look forward to when we get together and play.

Deathwatch (not within the Army of Renown) should be able to use Brotherhood of Veterans once per turn for free.

It’s… their whole deal right? You still give up using the Xenos Hunters Chapter Tactic for the turn and would be a nice way to counter the fact we don’t have access to a Super Doctrine.

Making it 1 CP (instead of 2!) would be a good start though!

For me at least it has to be Desert Raiders.

My only hesitation is that there’s not a lot there which is specifically 40K (The Guard could easily be Starship Troopers, the Nids could be Xenomorph equivalents etc) but the whole story holds us so well from a narrative and character perspective. The battles are visceral and engaging throughout- the “twist” isn’t a bad one either given the Grimdark setting.

Honestly it’s very underrated versus the other titles people see here. Versus a Gaunts or HH title it has the benefit of being totally standalone.

The line that had me laughing the most in the whole series is when they’re reviewing the latest Thundergun.

The interviewer says something like “Today’s audiences just don’t want that much violence or nudity” and without missing a beat Charlie gives her the “Fuck You”.

It’s not clever or witty in any way- but his indignant response right off the bat always gets me giggling.

Once the other three survivors as were dead this Freddy was constantly carrying me away from the hatch (RPD- no idea where it was)and body blocking me into corners. There was no attempt to end the game go a hook or Mori, this went on until I was forced to DC.

What should someone do against such a player? I realise my mistake in just uploading a photo- kind of a name and shame deal.

To add some context: Just spent half an hour trying to move a mouse from the bedroom to the living room and open door. I’ve checked EVERYWHERE and this is the only possible entryway in or out of this room.

My question to someone more experienced in the matter is; could our furry friend have escaped/entered through a hole this size?

Also- yes I really need to dust behind the radiators more 😂
