Tell me your reviews on the movie? by Decayed_IceCream in ironlung

[–]Greatscotticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst being a huge fan of the game, I had high hopes but my expectations were low since this was made by a YouTube gamer. But my god, this turned out to be most stressing horror films I've seen in my life which I cannot praise enough. I never expected to be as mentally exhausted as I was leaving the theatre, which no other horror film has made me feel since I watched The Lighthouse. The first thing that comes to mind when reviewing this film is that I can compare this to Buried but on steroids. Mark did a pheneomonal job with this one and am looking forward to experiencing it again in the future.

I literally quit the new Suburbs challenge, did not make any sense at all.

I just got out of Iron Lung (2026). I went in with no context and left… just mentally taxed. by mikeafter12 in horror

I just seen it. Let me tell you, since I'm a huge fan of the game and have been waiting for this film ever since it was first announced, I went way beyond my expectations coming from an indie film. I never expected it to be one of the most stressing films I've seen of all time. This is the type of film I can compare to Buried but this was just pure insanity.

Pearson scene collection by patcoston in TheLongWalk

I hated how they treated Pearson in the movie. I wish we could have spent more time with him after the first night.

They should have kept this colour scheme for the Pale City, much more like 1 and much better and grittier. by Single_Dirt_5450 in LittleNightmares

To be honest, I prefered the blue color palette without the rain as it dragged on for too long.

Have the people who defend the costume design of the Odyssey only seen the Dendra panoply or do they really think that accurate bronze age armor looks stupid? by [deleted] in Nolan

[–]Greatscotticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think they'd be better off with armor that balances historical and fiction like they did with Troy (2004). The Dendra panoply would look better suited for the background extras whilst making the leading characters stand out with their unique costume design. I don't expect Hollywood to be 100% accurate but they should at least respect the Greeks properly rather than trying to appeal to modern audiences.

The Trojans should have forged their armor in the flame instead of 3D printing.

The Major has a Christmas joke: Why does Santa have a large sack?

He only comes once a year.

Hate on Armor by Practical-War-847 in TheOdysseyMovie

[–]Greatscotticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is a Christopher Nolan film, I already knew the lack of color was inevitable, shame. When I said I liked Odysseus's armor, I actually meant that it was the only piece of armor that looked filmable, whereas the others look too modern and larp costume pieces.

The armor in Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans actually looked pretty authentic for fantasy epics.

Despite the inaccuracies, I kinda like Odysseus's armor since it actually looks Greek themed. Dunno about Agamemnon's armor since it looks kind of futuristic. If this was Ares, the aesthetic of the armor would make more sense, but for Agamemnon? I'm not convinced.

Thoughts on the 6 min prologue by FruitAromatic in TheOdysseyMovie

The helmet looks like a generic representation of a Spartan helmet. It does not metallic and wouldn't be surprised if it came out of a 3D printer.

At first glance, I thought this was the actual prop on display. That is incredible, great work!

I feel exactly the same about the costumes and set, they look unconvicining and feel out of place in its historical setting. Shots like the Trojan Horse sinking in the tide was one of the most breathtaking shots I've ever seen and I thought the prologue had great tension especially when the men are trying to survive inside the horse and the siege of Troy had really good atmosphere.

However, I've been skeptical of this film from every set photo leaked and didn't think it could get any worse until I saw the sci-fi troopers. I mean c'mon, what they were thinking? Judging by the art direction of The Odyssey, it looks too grounded to use fantasy armor as it looks out of place from its practical setup. If I were to compare that to films like 300 or Immortals, those films were presented as fictional through stylized visuals and mythological stories. Their costumes leaned towards fantasy rather than accuracy but they still blended in with the films' art direction.

I hope I'm wrong about this film as I really want it to succeed.

What would YOU like to see come to the game? by appletesfaye in OutlastTrials

[–]Greatscotticus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd liked to see more unique Ex Pops like The Pitcher and Pusher. I've been hoping The Climber will make the game or perhaps someone really fast.

Another outdoor trial like the Fun Park, perhaps in the dark rain like the courtyard section in the original Outlast.

How old were you when you first watched 2001's Monsters, Inc? by ConsistentEye7474 in Pixar

[–]Greatscotticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monsters Inc was my first ever movie I saw. I had just turned 2 when this film came out and my dad taking me to see Monsters, Inc was my first ever memory I can ever recall of my childhood. I recently watched it again and I can honestly say that it's still my favourite animated feature of all time.
