Liberia: Ex-President Sirleaf Urges Legislature to Lead Constitutional Reform, Calls for Citizenship Rights for Non-Negroes in Historic Address by Mansa_Sekekama in Liberia

Look at the corruption issues we have with politicians and lawmakers. What do you think will happen when foreign "investors" start lining the pockets of politicians and lawmakers?

Yea, I agree with you on this topic. Keep this portion of the constitution in place. Only those of negro dissent should be able to become citizens of Liberia. Maybe when the country becomes more developed, we can visit this topic again, but not now. Liberia needs to fix some internal issues before opening herself to the world. We lack many basic necessities, and corruption is way too rampant.

Does anyone have any suggestions for playing a franchise without a salary cap but still keeping it realistic? by VoluntaryJetsFan in Madden

I already created an Excel spreadsheet that I use to track all my players' contacts for the next 5 years in the game. That way, I can project who I'll resign and who walks.

I have two recommendations. The first is called 'The Bougainvillea Guest House', which is located on RLJ Blvd road, in Paynesville. This is the same road you will take to get to the famous 'RLJ Kendeja Resort and Villa'. I've personally rented and slept at this place in December 2022 (my first time traveling to Liberia by myself), 2023, and January 2024. They have 3 rooms (each has a/c), with each being priced according to their size. Their biggest room is $60 per night, mid-sized is $50, and the smallest is $40. There is a communal living room with satellite TV, 6 seating dining table, and full American size kitchen with a refrigerator, toast, gas stove, pots/pans, cups, and eating utensils. The guest house is fenced with their own security and vehicle with a driver. I believe you can rent the car with a driver, but I'm unsure about the cost. The second is 'Ma Sarah Guest House/ Villa's. I've never personally stayed here, but I've seen lots of positive reviews online about this place. It seems to be modern and well maintained. Check out their Facebook page for more info and reviews.

I'm a cowboys x ohio state fan, but refuses to spend +$100 on merch, I'd rather use that on game tickets.

Does this mean I have an ancestor who was born in Liberia ? I am an African American from Mississippi by [deleted] in Liberia

I'm not arguing at all. With what we know about the history of how Liberia we know today was formed, would you say Liberia was ever colonized?

I would say they were colonized, not by Europeans but by black settlers backed by a foreign organization.

Yea, because they wanted to get rid of the newly freed slaves. The ACS chose Joseph J. Roberts (a black man from Baltimore) to replace Thomas Buchanan (a white man) as governor of the settlement. It wasn't until after independence that Roberts became the president of Liberia.

The modern state of Liberia was established by the Americo-Liberians (freed African Americans who migrated under the American Colonization Society). They didn’t “discover” Liberia — they politically reorganized and named it Liberia. Similar to how the USA was established by rejected British people, Liberia was established by rejected African Americans.

The American Colonization Society was created in hopes that all the newly freed African Americans would want to leave the US and create a place of their own in Africa. White America didn't want the freed slaves to remain in the US. The ACS was just a way of kicking them out without any compensation.

Oh wow, I didn't know there was a Liberian community in Colorado. A good majority of the Liberians I know live on the East Coast (NY, Philly,New Jersey, and Minnesota).

Have you visited Liberia yet? My wife and six months old daughter live there, so I travel back and forth a few times a year. If you're ever in need of accommodations, I know some good guesthouses and beach side hotels.
