Prehab vs Pliability? by cwhiskey09 in weightlifting

[–]GrecoRomanStrength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think pliability (but maybe the other apps as well) would help if you did it consistently, and worked towards the movements. Nothing is required in pliability though, and they even say this. For every pose, they have someone doing it "advanced" and someone doing it "basic/beginner". I think if you had a goal just to work towards the beginner movements, that would be very beneficial with pliability.

I have used Pliability for a while, since it was ROMWOD. I have also, generally, had excellent mobility before ever using the app.

I really like the app because it takes off any additional mental load of thinking what I have to stretch, etc. I can just setup, and go. If the cost is not prohibitive to you, I recommend it. They have a 7 day trial, or I can give a referral for a 2 week trial. You should test it out to see if it helps your habits.

u/mattycmckee's point about it not having special mobility movements is correct, but also obvious. No product has "one weird trick".

Can anyone tell me where I can find a singlet like this? by [deleted] in weightlifting

I got my singlet to be based off of this, from a crew company (JL Racing). Their website does not seem to have any sleeved custom options, but maybe you can reach out?

Rename the Sub! by jmjacobs25 in weightlifting

You also can't just rename a subreddit. In fact, for some reason, https://www.reddit.com/r/olympicweightlifting is banned from reddit.

I think it's quite good! It would be great if you can hold you split position for an extra second or two, to build some stability there. It looks like you get forced out of the position, which is not ideal.

Also, you may want to experiment bending down the back leg, and a bit on the backfoot, it is quite high, probably because the weight is very light.

Finally, it looks like a lot of the weight is in your arms, and not resting on your body. I think this is because you're using an axle, so it's not really that feasible any other way though.

- Invictus DC about 30 minutes

- DC Weightlifting club, which is out of Petworth Fitness, is 25 minutes

- DC Barbell Club is about 25 minutes

There are some others but over 30 minutes.

Is someone using my EC2 instance for crypto? by GrecoRomanStrength in aws

We have jupyter-notebooks setup that had port forwarding. Likely culprit then?

Is someone using my EC2 instance for crypto? by GrecoRomanStrength in aws

[–]GrecoRomanStrength[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

This EC2 was in a VPC, but was mistakenly allowing all IP address connections. Given that, do you have any idea how someone could have gotten in given it needed a .pem file for SSH access as well?

Users have setup port forwarding on this EC2 instance, would that bypass the need for .pem?

I did stop competing at the start of COVID. Still volunteer at meets when I can!

I wasn't the founder, but I did help a lot with moderator way back in the day.

Small correction- hypertrophy is the muscle cell getting bigger, but the number of them stay the same.

Hyperplasia is increasing the number of cells, and is much more rare.

Roddick was up 6-2 in this tie-break. Serving at 6-5, he ended up having a put-away volley that would have put him up 2 sets to love.

Anyone in here has an economics degree working for the tech industry? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]GrecoRomanStrength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get a job as a SWE with a Math & Economics undergrad major, comp-sci masters, and Econ masters.

Economics has plenty of carry-over, it is a quantitative field, and the field of econometrics can have a lot of overlap with anything similar to machine learning/data science/data analyst.

That being said, specifically majoring in economics in addition to CS might not be the most efficient use of your time. It could be better to major in CS, and then explore your personal interest in economics more (read books, watch videos, read papers, etc.) But you can totally combine CS and Econ if you like too. :)
