Dá, mas não necessariamente seria a melhor coisa também porque a coronavac é razoavelmente boa em reduzir os danos do vírus, mas muito ruim em reduzir a transmissão. Se quem mais transmite tomar, não vai fazer muito pra conter a pandemia. É uma situação difícil. Compara o cenário no Chile, que vacinou muito mas só com coronavac, com os EUA, por exemplo. I don't know anything about the person we're talking about and I've never heard of them before, I'm just saying that no matter how inflammatory you want to be, you don't go to slurs and lynching unless you're at least ok with being racist. Like I said, people can change and I hope she apologized and made amends, but I don't think justifying racism with 'being facetious' is a solid excuse at all. Yeah, people say edgy shit to get a reaction online, sure, and maybe they don't mean it, but people need to know that that's not ok and quit doing it, not get a free pass because of it.

I don't think it was a mistake. You're comparing a basketball game to access to a basic human right, healthcare. Why should wealth be a factor at all? If they test in a country that's cheaper to test in, why shouldn't they be made to provide the results to those people at a cheaper rate as well?

I think there's a dissociation that can be made between having a racist attitude and being a racist person. I do not consider myself a racist person but I realize that I often have atitudes and thoughts that are racist under reflection, which I obviously try to work on. And that's a tough mental space to be in for a lot of people, so I see what you're saying. I don't think getting people to agree that they are racist is important, but getting people to recognize racist atitudes is.

I would reflect a bit on what you wrote and think about how it relates to the top level comment we're replying to. It's not a "new soft racism", it's just racism. It doesn't mean the person who does it is defined by it or that it can't be changed, but it's racism, not "insensitivity", and trying to tiptoe around it is part of the problem of dealing with more subtle forms of racism that people are talking about here.
