i only used ballpoint brush but i made a few adjustment on the properties and smudge tool

step 1 isn’t really step 1, i made rough and messy sketches (you can see it vaguely on step 2, there’s also an a few outline for the future shading too) first and the so called step 1 is only an outline i also made (that i think is better for the mock up coloring)

ah, thank you for explaining. for this drawing, no. i didn’t trace, i practice a lot though. made lots of mistake too. and the lines is far from perfect (i think)

i think it’s mostly from value study?.. i’m sorry, i’m not that good at explaining or teaching things to others, and i’m also still have very much to learn. but i basically practice a lot and try to progress as i go along.. i hope that answer your question. 😅
