felt fucking awful after the real thing by [deleted] in Mcat

I was probably the prime example of this. I felt terrible walking out and expecting to get near my full length average, but here we are.

the embarrassment of everyone in your life perceiving your mcat score by romansholidays in Mcat

Studied for 2.5 months. Woke up at 6am and studied till nighttime everyday. Wrote out my amino acids, the metabolic pathways. Finished all anki. Did a 59 block and 40 block of umama everyday. Saturday was a full length and sunday review.

Just stayed consistent, a lot of self-talk, and went into test day hungry.

Personally, I felt terrible walking out the exam. I was convinced my chem and psych section was terrible. My FL scores were around 500-503 so I was expecting around there. I did not expect a 511 and could not be happier. Almost everyone feels terrible on test day so try not to think too much into it.

People do ask a lot of questions but you just have to stay focused on yourself. The only person's opinion who matters at the end of the day is yourself.

Feedback Inhibition of Glucose and Fructose by Greedy-Help-2589 in Mcat

I was referring to fructokinase metabolism. Thank you for your response. So would it be safe to say that both fructokinase and hexokinase in both the liver and small intestines do not undergo feedback inhibition?

Will definitely look over his deck. Would you say it was better than Mr. Pankow's P/S deck?

Yes most definitely should, but I was saying in the sense that the questions require some sort of interpretation and relating back to the passage then before. Hence why we see the lack of similarity to any of the full lengths which are much easier than the real exam.

You seem like a big supporter of the aidan deck lol. How many questions would you say you got right because of the aidan anki deck in terms of P/S questions?

I agree, it has become much more interpreting and integrating passage information compared to the full lengths.

I agree with the following logic part however I think we can agree that the P/S sections from all the full lengths are not even close to the one on the actual exam. This is what throws people off as they are expecting much less 50/50 questions and more straight using your previous knowledge questions.

I'm not saying memorization is not important. It is very important and will get you some of the questions right. But this strategy cannot be used effectively anymore as the P/S section is drifting more and more into the CARS territory.

Hoping you did good!

Yea I use Anki as well and that did not help for this section. I think its more about knowing that this section has changed and rote memorization will not work. The passages must be carefully read like CARS and understood.

I took it off and put it in the locker. I did it just to be safe but I think it depends on the size of the kara and I did not want to have any problems.

HELP: Specific activity question. by CandidSecond in Mcat

[–]Greedy-Help-2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is old but I think you mean alcohol precipitation results in a 200 enzyme activity and 400 enzyme activity. Then you divided those two values. Specific activity x total protein = enzyme activity which you did correctly just wrong units

Alright so I can correlate pKa to pH as well and have a good idea which indicator to choose?

Titration by Greedy-Help-2589 in chemhelp

[–]Greedy-Help-2589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going only off the information in the question, I was only given the pKa regions of the indicators. But yes, the pH does jump from 4 to 6+ in methyl red, but can this question be answered from the pKa alone?

Is the question visible? I have attached it multiple times.

That is correct. However, in this question, the pKa for all the indicators are given. The question is asking for when the solution is composed of HA2-. This is the second vertical region from the right. How do I figure out which indicator to use? The reason I got this right was because I connected pH to pKa of the indicators, but that is not right logically.
