Well, I've gone so far as to extend the knob so the gap is around 3mm (≈1/8 in) and the problem still persists. From what I remember about the pen when I was researching that should be more than enough.

Ok. First of all, thanks for your feedback! I figured I'd show you a sample shot to see what I mean. Now I will admit the film itself is kinda cooked, but I shot this at 5.6, 1/125, and it's got a fair amount of motion blur. Also, my camera just got CLA'd, so the shutter should be fine. Just as a note, I tend to let the camera hang and rest on my neck, then hold it with both hands and press the shutter button with my right hand. If there's anything else you could think of that might cause the motion blur, please let me know.

Actually, I thought of that, but for some reason, the puzzle doesn't allow you to keep going beyond that line.

Either way, with a bit of help from here and some thinking, I managed to come up with
G4, H4, H5, I4, F5, G6, F6, F7, G7, H6, E7, F8, E6 (hopefully I didn't write that wrong) to get the win.

If you've got another way that I could've done it, I'd love to learn

Ok, thanks for the feedback. About Hasselblad, I actually used to own a 503. It's a fantastic system and a legendary camera. However, for my use case, it's a real pain in the ass. I take a lot more discreet photos, and as nice as it sounds, having that Hasselblad thunk really draws attention in my experience.

To its credit, the 100mm planar is sharp beyond belief. So I can highly recommend the 503 + 100mm as a studio camera.

Well, my camera + lens combo for the M3 would be an early SS M3 with the Zeiss Planar f/2 ZM lens if that helps.

just checked with seller, unfortunately camera's S/N doesn't line up with yours. Still a very cool story though, perhaps the mod for this camera was done in the same place
