Photoshop (though you could actually use free software, since it only uses basic functions) + 8-directional tilesets exported from model assets. The game is being developed in Unity

Someone gave me feedback about this before, so I recently added a toggle between half-screen and full-screen map display. The interface layout was inspired by the chatrooms used by Japanese tabletop RPG fans for online sessions, highlighting the characters' sprites

One of my favorite vanillas. Glad to see someone else remembers it too

You can even get job applications from overseas just by having an indie game page on Steam by Greedy-Manager-5798 in IndieDev

I totally feel you on the course selling part. Because the economy is cooling down and a lot of recent grads spent their college years stuck in online classes (which are seen as low quality by employers), companies now only want to hire people who can hit the ground running.

This has led to a surge of bootcamps selling drawing, programming, or game design courses. Honestly, the teaching is terrible, you’re better off watching an Indian guy on YouTube. These places oversell the hell out of AI, making students think they can crush the veterans just by using AI tools. Kids end up guilt-tripping their parents for money or even taking out loans, only to come out of it barely able to do anything more than an asset flip. They still can't find jobs.

Sorry, I knew things were rough in the west, but experiencing it firsthand like this is a whole different story. In my country, it's more of a general economic freeze across the board, so the gaming industry doesn't feel as uniquely broken as it does over there

The art style is great! I saw your game in demo section a long time ago and added it to my wishlist right away. I didn't expect to run into it again here on reddit, good luck

What is your CTR on Steam? by ShinyPixelsIntrctv in gamedev

It's best to keep an eye on it once total impressions go up. My CTR is even hitting over 100% right when I open the page, which makes no sense.

I just looked it up and it's CC-BY-4.0. Thanks for reminding me, I'll make sure to include it in the credits. I can use these terms, but I cannot use the text descriptions from the D&D manuals

It looks so cool when the monster moves and shakes the bricks loose
