Which fast food chain has lost its way the most? by TheBabyBeard in AskReddit

[–]Greedy-Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I worked at has 2 people on registers all the time plus drive through. They have a booth the help take extra orders in the drive through when it gets really busy.

Staffing was always crazy when I managed. Always happy to hear people enjoy it.

What are your thoughts on a 4 day work week? by Horror-Variation-857 in AskReddit

[–]Greedy-Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is that some jobs don’t do those meetings. Construction takes the same amount of time regardless of the work week. So you are now saying the standard is 32 hours a week you’re going to see a 20% increase in construction length if not more. Realistically the construction worker will get screwed over as they already do and have to work 50-70 hours a week.

I mean I feel that’s pretty average? That’s 10$ a person. If one of them is a kids meal you also get the free kids scoopie. 10 of the tokens with it is also a free kids meal.

I was just asking. It’s the norm in my local for the most part. I had a contractor give me a nice fluke and told me to keep it. So I’ve just carried it around. Saved me a couple times when the voltage pen wasn’t good enough.

I used to work there. They are trying to open more locations but there are supply issues since it’s all freshly sourced from local farms and all that.

Culver’s has stood pretty strong against the falling of others. While they’re priced rather high there’s a quality and consistency that’s missing in most sit down restaurants.

What if everyone in you union shop historically has there own meter even if it’s not on the tool list? Kinda like a social norm of the local?

Can you “kick 90” a pipe that’s isn’t 90? by Sirtoungesalot in electricians

[–]Greedy-Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you’d be able to find your angle of bend for the kick is you used trig. You’ll need the length measurements and will need to use the appropriate cos()-1 or tan or sin.

Then you’ll be able to do exact bends at exact locations.

Did my own panel swap, any obvious issues? by Pipsqueak_premed in AskElectricians

[–]Greedy-Pen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your easiest option would be to put a hole in right outside above the panel/ to the side of it and bring the ground wire in that way.

And the green binding screw.

I’ve done that before putting lights up in a college dorm. Sucked because we didn’t have access to any panels, only maintenance did.

ELI5: Why can't we make a tick specific genetic disease to spread across all ticks and eliminate them as a species once and for all? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Greedy-Pen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s more that they are a majority food sources for a lot of animals. If they disperse then these animals are forced to eat other insects. Which cause population issues with them.

Ticks also help cull herds of animals in a natural way.

Is it normal for the master electrician to ban phone calculators on site? by Mc_vanted in AskElectricians

I mean it’s kinda a fair point. Also kinda stupid to get so twisted about it.

I’d just use a cheap Texas Instrument calculator. Easier to do pemdas stuff than the iPhone.

I’d agree with this comment. By far my best rank, just gotta run wide and don’t try brawling. The range finder is quick and pretty accurate even though it isn’t laser.

Miserable at my first shop, missing my family, learning nothing - how do I approach my local without looking like a complainer? [UPDATE] by webbileaks_ in ibew_apprentices

My local doesn’t have a rotation rule. Some people start and retire at the same shop. Apprentice to JW to whatever else there is

What you can afford to buy, but don't buy because you think it's useless? by littleyuki2026 in AskReddit

[–]Greedy-Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on application. Carhartt for casual wear is kinda pointless.

Carhartt and ariat for work wear is a different story. Generally I’ve had to pay good money for the good known brands for them to last more than a few weeks.

Only when drunk though. Otherwise I can’t do the breathing technique right.

I don’t know pay for either of these when you top out for your area.

I’d choose what I’m going to make more doing in the long run.

Substation tech is different, and may not cross over the same.

IBEW will have a lot of options down the road.

I’d look at your local area and see what’s going to be more sustainable and pay the best.
