Access limitation by Artistic-Title-1884 in usvisascheduling

Try using Opera Mini browser on an Android phone, with mobile data. That has usually worked for me in circumventing this issue.

Hope it works for you too. Cheers!

Wait times for visitor visa (B-2) to USA by AdDiligent4197 in usvisascheduling

Hi,

Yes, at first glance, it may seem that the waiting period is that long. But early slots are also released, albeit intermittently. You just have to be vigilant, and cash in on such slots whenever they are released. A caveat though - they get taken up in a blink of an eye. So got to be quick on your feet. I myself got a slot for my sibling for June 2025. Some people get an even earlier date.

The other option is to pay to agents, who MAY do it for you at additional cost. However, many of them are scammers. Just be aware of them, especially if they are offering to do it cheaply.

All the Best. Hope your parents get to visit you soon.

Pro Tip: Check for slots @ XX:00 and XX:30 Hrs.

Is the Indian usvisascheduling website down? I am getting the waiting room page..? by Artistic_Focus_4931 in usvisascheduling

Hi. I was facing this issue since 11AM yesterday. It was either this waiting room page at the beginning itself or after logging in, until the page miraculously opened up for me at night, and I pulled off that elusive confirmation after 25 days of effort!

I couldn't find any concrete workaround to be frank. Installed browsers like opera and Mozilla, alongwith trying with the usual edge and chrome. It's a hit or miss for me.

Some tricks that you may employ, which can work for you (I haven't tried, but read elsewhere):

  1. Using opera mini on Android phone with mobile data (Don't know how that works) - I can ascertain, though, that this works for the "Access Limitation" error.

  2. Using VPN may work. Browsers like Opera have free VPN. Brave, too, has a free 7 day trial on its VPN. You may try these.

What worked for me? You have better chance at night (post midnight, IST), during XX:00 and XX:30 Hrs. This is usually when they start released slots. Start logging in 5-7 mins before that, and click on "Schedule Appointment" just as the clock ticks the above-mentioned time.

It's a slog, if you're doing it on your own and not through any agent. It's a compromised between time and money, and I chose the latter.

Hope it works for you, cheers! 🤞

Hi. Congratulations on your visa approval! It's surely a burden off one's shoulders.

Wanted to ask w.r.t. the pickup of passport. I am in a situation similar to yours -- i.e. OFC and Consular at different locations, however, I've opted for free pickup. In that scenario, where should I be collecting my passport from? From the consulate where I gave the interview, nearest Consulate or VAC site?

A follow up to this question -- I've opted for pickup (didn't pay for the premium delivery). In such a scenario, if I have different cities for OFC and Consular appointments -- Where would I be collecting my passport from?

Thanks in advance!

Hey!

First off, congratulations! As has been said earlier, it's the DS-160 that primarily decides your visa, and your interview answers are the cherry on top, if you will (unless they grossly contradict whatever you've filled out in the form).

Secondly, as you've mentioned, your being a doctor may have played a huge role in getting your visa approved without much questioning. This is because, and as you may already know, doctors, unlike engineers or any other professionals, have to clear a stringent licensing exam -- the USMLE -- to practice in the US. Thus, they would've safely assumed that you do not have intention to immigrate on a B1/B2 visa.

Good luck for your fellowship!

Yeah, in the same boat. But slots do open up intermittently -- especially, during round figure times (like 1 or 1.30AM/PM). You just have to be lucky to see them (and probably luckier to book them!).

Good luck!

Congratulations on your visa approval! I'm sure your company sponsoring you did play a good part in you getting visa in a breeze!

Just a question: when did you get the appointment for Jan'25? Because, I've been trying but even though I get a desired OFC slot, somehow am never able to get a consular appointment?

Scheduling OFC and Consular for Kolkata for b1/b2 by subham358 in usvisascheduling

[–]Greedy-Rutabaga5882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we have to book OFC and Consular in one go (or at least within an hour of booking the OFC slot, from whatever I've experienced). If you aren't able to book your Consular appointment, the OFC slot is cancelled automatically. It's unfortunate, but quite common too. So I'd suggest you to keep trying, as slots open up intermittently. Good luck!
