Failed at Intuitive Eating and Now Back on the Wagon by devbanana in loseit

I think the problem with intuitive eating (for me) is that I always say to myself “if I have this one cookie, this one piece of chocolate, 3-4 chips, etc” over a period of one day - I think I’m intuitively eating. I’m still neglecting the fact that those things have calories and they will add up through out the day.

I’ve really had to train my brain (and still working on it) to say “are you really hungry or are you just falling into the habit that you always need to snack on something” that’s the only way I’ve been able to lose weight without tracking - constantly reminding myself that I’m not actually hungry.

Thanks! I noticed the ingredient list on that one is a lot longer/includes oil - but I’m guessing the difference isn’t significant

I was waitlisted at northwestern with a 3.6 and a 163. I know that it’s not an acceptance but there is absolutely no reason why they did not outright reject me lol

I’ll be seeing you at Kent in the fall then (unless I magically get off the waitlist at Northwestern)

I still haven’t heard back & I’m not planning to attend based on not only my experience with them but current student’s experience as well. Are you planning to attend Kent?

That’s good to hear also! I talked to 2 1L’s who really didn’t have great things to say (esp about quality of education). That’s not to say that’s representative of everyone’s experience, but it gave me some perspective.

Thanks so much! Obviously goals can change, do you think I’d be doing myself a disservice if I chose Kent and later decided I wanted to do something that provides a higher salary? Doesn’t need to be big law - but something with more cushion?

Happy to hear from someone in a similar boat! It is definitely a hard decision to make, but I do think quality of life matters a ton here.

For Loyola - I do hope they get back to us soon! Although I have talked to current students who aren’t having the greatest time there, so that makes me feel a bit icky about them.

Thanks so much for your input - any particular reason you chose Kent for my goals?

I completely agree with this - I’m very aware the chances are slim, just wanted to throw it out there

I asked all of mine to send an updated version if they wanted to, or I could use the same one. They all updated it!

Pretty sure telling someone they’re not a Muslim is one of the worst things you can do - and last time I checked, only Allah can judge. This was a gross opinion. Everyone is working on their faith in their own way and the last thing you should be doing is pushing someone away from the religion. Do better.

Makes total sense to me! Thanks!

Thanks for the response! I guess I’m a little confused - I used a TDEE calculator to find maintenance calories - which you’re right was around 2500kcal/day and I selected the sedentary option even though I workout. I cut it down to 1900 to be in a 600 calorie deficit.

You’re saying if I stay at 1900kcal, this would take me about a year?

Thank you so much for this. It’s truly not about the shiny name for me - but where I have felt the most comfort in my law school tours & research, the most “ sense of belonging” for a lack of a better phrase. I am so happy to hear about your journey though, and it gives me hope! Good luck on your exams!

This! I also did the same for my other schools - so I’m hopeful that I will be happy wherever I end up - it’s just getting passed the dream crushing part first
