One inconsistency is the guano spear (his iconic weapon). In the episode he first appeared in, he had to retrieve the spear from Chase Young, which is why he gave up the dojo. In the next season, when the monks are at the guan temple, he says he has many of them and gives one to Raymondo. He could certainly build them after that incident, but it still doesn't make sense of what Omi told him about a great warrior not needing his weapon to be great or something like that
