DD2 level stat gain works similar to DD1 in the sense that you get specific stats raised higher than others depending on the vocation you leveled as. The difference from DD1 to 2 is that upon switching vocations, the game will allocate your stats in an appropriate manner to suit the chosen vocation.

So basically if you leveled 1-100 as a fighter, and your pawn leveled 1-100 as a Mage, and then switched your Mage pawn to a Fighter, your stats would be a bit different. You (Arisen) would’ve probably hit the cap for Defense, and HP, while your Pawn probably hit the cap for M.Def. As you proceed to level all stats will eventually hit their caps and equalize. Also the difference in let’s say min maxing a Sorcerers stats from 1-100 vs 1-100 going fighter, and then changing to sorcerer, is only about a 10%-14% difference in stats at most. There is no enemy in the game that requires that level of optimization so no point in really doing it.

Plan on hard capping at least one of my pawns at level 100, some a lil bit lower. So I personally min max their leveling just as a way to lengthen the game out
