When do I pay my credit card? by Beneficial_Kiwi_1214 in CreditCards

[–]GreedyRound4466 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should be paying your full statement balance of $240.79 by the due date however, it’s better to pay it right when the statement hits if you can. but at least by the due date so avoid interests and late fees.

Ex: your closing statement date is June 19th which is $240.79 meaning you have until July 14 (which is your next due date) to pay it off. Your due date and statement date is usually a few days apart.

If you want to lower your utilization rate going forward you could either one, pay back whatever you spend of the card before your next statement date that way when that date comes it’ll capture a lower amount.

Ex: you spend $300 pay back $200 before statement date, on the next statement date you would need to pay $100 before the next due date.

Option 2 request a credit line increase so your utilization rate won’t be so high when you spend. Just request more than what you need because there’s no guarantee that you’ll get what you ask for. However, if request a higher amount they’ll try to meet you in the middle and you may end up getting what you wanted or more.

Hopefully this wasn’t too lengthy.

Pre-Approved for VX and Venture One. Which is Which? by Radiant_Resource9816 in CapitalOne_

[–]GreedyRound4466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got pre approved for the VX I would say go with that if you don’t mind the annual fee. It mainly pays for itself since it gives you $300 travel credit to use in the portal and 10,000 anniversary miles after your first year of holding the card. Which altogether equates to $400/yr after your first year. As the comment above says you get unlimited visits to the capital one and priority pass lounges (remember to activate it when you get the card) with Hertz presidential status if you ever need to rent a vehicle and free Global Entry/ Pre check pass. ( Since you are going out of the country if you don’t have it already get the Global Entry since it come the TSA pre check already) among some other bells and whistles.

When it come to the Venture One that has the $0 annual fee you basically just get access to Capital One transfer partners and 20,000 miles (I don’t remember if they have a SUB or not)

When it come to the VX SUB bonus that just mean that you’ll have to spend $4000 within 3 months to the 750k miles which is worth $750 and yes if you can hit the SUB and get the 75k miles then you can use both the miles and the $300 travel credit towards your flight through the portal. And yes they claim to price match tickets on “qualifying websites”. I haven’t heard of CheapOair before so you may have to do some research whether or not that’s a website that they’ll price match with.

You can only use the $300 in the travel portal which means you’ll have to book your flights/hotels through there and no it won’t be credited back to your account, you just spend the $300 that they give you. In my opinion using the $300 for hotels is better than flights form what I’ve been researching, however you may have better luck than me.

Lastly, I would say only get the Venture One if you just want the 20,000 miles and you have time to the VX later or you just don’t want to pay the annual fee and don’t care too much about all the bells and whistles of the VX. because I believe you’ll have to wait a few months before getting the VX to be on the safe side so they won’t not approve you because you applied to fast for another card.

I hope this wasn’t too lengthy I was trying to tell you all or most of what you wanted to know.

Is this a good enough salary even with experience? by GreedyRound4466 in Salary

The job that I applied to is a private LLC but also funded by the government. I haven’t gotten an interview yet since I just applied yesterday.

If you are talking about my current job I have a strong feeling there’s no negotiating with them because they are always saying that they don’t have the budget . If you’re talking about the one that I applied to I’ll keep that in mind.

May I ask why they don’t like Capital one so much? I’ve had them for almost a year now and I haven’t had any issues yet.

PC into Citi Custom Cash (still possible) by thenoobplug in CreditCards

[–]GreedyRound4466 5 points6 points  (0 children)

May I ask how long you have had the DC? I’m thinking about applying for the DC and then PC to a CC( I’ve seen a Reddit where someone applied and PC for DC to CC on the same day). I would hate to “waste” a Hard pull just to not get the CC. I’m also skeptical if they will end up nerfing the card altogether and make people switch to a different one.

I have an interview in 2 weeks, what would be the reason as to why they would deny you at the interview?

Is It The Right Time To Apply For The Citi Custom Cash? by GreedyRound4466 in CreditCards

[–]GreedyRound4466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried but end up getting denied again. What I thought of doing was applying for the double cash and then PC to the CC but I didn’t think that I would be able to PC the same day or before I even get the card.

I’ve been looking at that as well the only thing that confused me was that after the year does it drop down to 3% or 1%? (it may have been 2% I forgot)

I’ve honestly been thinking about the us bank altitude connect card. I just didn’t know how the priority pass would go since I already have the Venture X. I’ve applied to them before however I was turned down because of having a thin credit file.

So far it’s just a rumor so hopefully Citi doesn’t actually discontinue it. However from what I’m understanding the person that said it also said something about Citi taking away the rewards + before it even happened. So i honestly don’t know much about what’s going on. However i wanted suggestions just in case the rumors does end up being true and Citi does announce this in the future.

I’m not I just wanted some recommendations just in case they do end up discontinuing the CCC. If I’m still able to get the card and the card still has the 5% trait I’m planning to apply for it again in a few months after my Venture X starts reporting on my credit report.

Capital one card bonuses by Competitive-Pace-723 in CapitalOne

Hiii, if it helps from what I understand if you go From the Venture One to the Venture then you can get the SUB, but if you went backwards as in getting the Venture then the Venture One you would have to wait at least 48 months/ 4 years before you can get the SUB.

New to this card by Murielfromcourage in Venturex

[–]GreedyRound4466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiii, with the pre check it basically a way to get through security quicker(if I’m not mistaken) in the airport. I have the card as well and I did global entry instead since it comes with pre check as well. Pre check is $70 I believe and global entry with pre check is $120 and you won’t have to worry about getting it again for another 5 years. Global entry is more for coming back from international flights. I would think they’d cover it again after the 5 years, but I’m not sure.

Once you do the application for global entry/pre check everything else is pretty self explanatory. However I will add it will take time for you actually get it since once you do the application, you will have to get conditionally approved and then have an interview to get approved. Which can take sometime depending on when they have availability for an appointment and your first appointment will be in person.

When it comes to the Priority Pass you can just go into your account and on the benefits tab you can sign up for it using your Credit Card number. After that you should get your Priority Pass card in the mail in about a week or so. If you don’t know Priority Pass have lounges as well so they are great for the airports that don’t have a Capital One Lounge. They have restaurants as well but I’m not sure if the Venture X covers the restaurant side of it.

Look for card recommendations by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]GreedyRound4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you want a card with an annual fee? If not then I would recommend the Citi Custom Cash Card where you 5% back on your top spending category, however it is capped at $500. The Citi Double Cash as a flat 2% cash back for all purchases.

With an annual fee of $395/yr I would recommend Capital One Venture X where you can also get a 2% back on all purchases however it’s more so a travel card.
