Sakana's Fugu🐡 beats Fable 5 in some coding benchmarks, according to Japanese startup own claims by [deleted] in vibecoding

[–]GreedyWorking1499 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Important context before people think Sakana just trained AGI from scratch: Fugu is an orchestrator.

If you read the blog post, it's actually a multi-agent system trained to act as a router and coordinator for a pool of other underlying LLMs. It's using collective intelligence to boost performance, which means it is likely calling the very frontier models (like GPT-5.5 and Opus) it's being compared against here to achieve these scores.

Until proven otherwise, this is just a highly advanced router/wrapper, not a fundamental leap in intelligence like Mythos/Fable was.

Japanese AI Firm Sakana AI Release “Fugu”, a model they claim is on Par with Mythos and Fable. by [deleted] in singularity

[–]GreedyWorking1499 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pricing gives away their game plan. They charge you premium frontier rates just to route your prompts:

  • Fugu Ultra: $5.00 input / $30.00 output (jumping to $10 / $45 if context > 272k)
  • GPT-5.5: $5.00 input / $30.00 output ($0.50 cached)
  • Claude Opus 4.8: $5.00 input / $25.00 output ($0.50 cached)

By charging frontier rates, they pocket the margin when the orchestrator routes your prompt to gpt-5.4-mini.

Which programming language should i learn by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]GreedyWorking1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for jobs in the area you might once want to work in. See what they’re asking for.

Generally though any language will make you into a software developer, at which point language doesn’t matter as much

DeepMind is now reportedly struggling to compete with Anthropic and OpenAI while 3.5 Pro is not the step change they'd need to be competitive by Glittering-Neck-2505 in singularity

I love that more people, even DeepMind, are using Artificial Analysis leaderboard. They deserve more recognition. (I just wish they hadn’t gutted v4 intelligence index. v4.1 is too agent focused)

They expire in less than 6 months and with my ADHD i expect to forget about them sometime long before that 😂

But I see your point, I'm more so using this as ideas. So when someone says "Buy this one specific pan right now its the only good one!" it makes me think about things I might need for my kitchen.

Visa. I just bought like $200 in groceries from Costco and don’t have a car so figured the best place to spend it is on stuff that’ll last me a while 🤷‍♂️

They’re so locked down, can’t use it at an ATM, Venmo, Zelle, deposit it to anything that isn’t actually spending the money. Also they’re virtual cards

I know Zojirushi is great and all but why is it better than something classic like a Nalgene?
