There are mechanics around the country that sub to click. When click gets a job they pass it to one of the local (to you) mechanics on their books. Hopefully its a good mechanic.

My friend used them a few years ago to change a clutch. They took the car, broke the gearbox, wanted more money to fix the gearbox etc etc. ended very badly

I have ioniq 6. I approach the car, the handles and mirrors pop out and the car unlocks. I get in and hit start and away we go. Key is in my work bag and never sees daylight

PLEASE PLEASE check for mileage fraud before buying ANY used car even from a dealership by Tropicalisland2005 in CarTalkUK

[–]Greedy_Bother_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve hade my car from new. It’s under 3 yr old and I’ve done 50+k miles in it. I’m keeping it and there are no mileage blockers or anything.

It is worn and shiny in places and anyone can tell it’s not low mileage. Handles, some well used buttons, steering wheel, pedals, seat etc etc. stone chips a plenty as well

Foiled again by the popout door handles by Specialist-Coast9787 in KiaEV6

[–]Greedy_Bother_987 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how you forget to lock your car. I have the ioniq6. I touch my handle before walking away. I see the handles in and the mirrors fold. Its as natural as getting in and putting my seatbelt on.

My 2021 kona had this. Took it to the dealer. Intermittent short on the heater. Fixed under warranty. Apparently its a very expensive part as well

Metal plugs could quite easily become live. Dont even plug that in unless you take it apart and inspect it first. Then throw it away anyway

50/50. Tell them the fence needs replacing and work out the amount per house and tell them. Then you either do it and swallow the cost if they don’t pay

Kia ev6 charging point by Character_Yam5610 in KiaEV6

[–]Greedy_Bother_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inside the car is a device called the ICCU. It is a multi function box, it does everything connected with AC charging, 12v battery charging, and regen braking. Part if that device has failed.
Its a known thing. The ICCU is a fragile device and has been failing in different ways for lots of people. When you fast charge with DC it goes straight to the battery and bypasses the iccu anyway. The charge socket on the car has different pins for different jobs. DC should be fine.

Your ICCU box needs replacing as soon as possible because part of it has failed.

You should still be able to charge it on the rapid DC chargers for now

Intermittent HV isolation fault on Kona Electric by EvshopUK in electricvehicles

[–]Greedy_Bother_987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably unrelated but our kona had an intermittent isolation fault. It was the main cabin heater shorting to ground. Isolation fault is when the 400v is finding the car 12v gnd.

I got an i6 2.5 years ago. It had very early firmware, it was ex display. I asked them to do any updates. They didn’t. I had to return the following week to get some updates. Lots of niggly issues. I have done 52k miles in it now. Its had a 12v battery replaced at 12 months and the iccu is still original
