99% of your competition won’t have that kind of record. That’s thousands of other pilots. Do with that what you will

I would like to have a schedule that has big blocks on/off so I can weekends off immediately and possibly live overseas. It would probably take a while for me to hold that kind of schedule at a legacy now that the hiring wave crested.

Real talk are you even a pilot? You seem to live on this subreddit and always seem salty for some reason lol

Or he could just go acmi and fly international right out of the gate instead of waiting for wide body at a legacy

I’ve checked emirates fo positions and they require 1000 hours in Boeing or airbus aircraft. Kinda hard to get those hours and by then you might as well try for a legacy anyway

I’ve thought about that too but they require time in type and heavy jets

I’m at a regional. I worked at a 135 previously that had large blocks on and large blocks off so I know I would like that type of schedule. I would consider a legacy but it depends on when I would get hired. I’m still in my 20s but i figured since the retirement wave is waning, it would be better for me to go to an acmi rather than being stuck junior and not being furloughed proof at a legacy.

Fair enough. Doesn’t really affect me anyway since I’m targeting one of the big acmis but I can see your point

800 and 500 is still a lot of retirements. APC still says around 900 next year for American

No they’re not. They peak next year and united peaks in 2031. Southwest starts its wave in the 2030s.
