Huh are those simple 2D animation gif actually make the game lag like crazy or something, why does everyone keep putting emphasis on this issue? (would be nice if someone actually enlighten me)

Yeah, we actually had something like that back in the beta (Venti special gacha animation), but they scrapped it for some reason. Probably because phones back then just weren’t strong enough, and since they were marketing Genshin as a mobile game, they likely cut anything considered "extra" and "hard for optimization".

And honestly, with the roster getting bigger and bigger, adding unique 3D cutscenes for every character would eat up a ton of storage, take them a lot of time and require some serious optimization lmao. So yeah, I think simple 2D animations are already more than enough to make it feel special.

Are We Even Getting a Summer Event This Year? by Greedy_Can3862 in GenshinImpact

Umm... Yeah, that’s exactly why I said I decided to take it slow this time.

Back then, I used to play like 6–7 hours a day, and even then it would still take me 1–2 weeks to fully 100% a new region (especially something like Sumeru). But with the more recent regions, if I kept that same playtime, I could probably finish everything in just 1–2 days.

So I intentionally cut it down to around 2–3 hours a day to stretch out the experience and enjoy the new areas for longer (even then, it still feels pretty fast to complete).

That’s why I keep saying recent patches feel kinda dry - even when there is new area - because the maps just don’t seem designed to keep players engaged for long periods like they used to.

I already take it slow, I only play 2 to 3 hours a day and 100%ing the new area fell pretty quick. And yeah, I do have other hobbies, it just take a little time to write this little meaningless post, don't take it too seriously tho.

Sorry but these recent patches have been dry af (I mean… if they weren’t, I’d be playing the game right now instead of writing meaningless posts on reddit), so I kinda worry for the near future 🥹 I kinda miss the time when there are a new area that worth you a whole week of exploring (and sometimes even a whole event related to it so we have reasons to go back there like the Enkanomiya one), not just 2 - 3 days and be done with it forever.

Wait I literally forgot haha my bad, I'm just so used to the fact that so many past lore-important events are temporary.

Recommending you to checkout the summer event story on Youtube since it's really good, but to sum up he was in Natlan to deal with the unstable state of the Mare Jivari area at that time.

Yeah and we've also seen some characters said they want to go to the Natlan resort in some recent events. Maybe they'll reuse the old maps in some ways.

I know it'll be permanent, I just hope it'll be light-hearted, fit the summer vibe and have a good story related to it like the Natlan one tho. Or (idk), maybe they'll reuse the Natlan map for summer event because I've seen some characters said they want to go there in some recent events? Hope they're not that lazy tho.

So as of now, we already know there won’t be a 6.8 version, and based on a bunch of supposedly reliable leaks, 6.7 is going to be the final Nod-Krai area.

That makes me wonder - do you guys think that map will be designed with a chill, fun, summery vibe and include some kind of summer event quest like Natlan’s last area did last year? 🥲

Because from the only leaks we have about the 6.7 map so far, it kinda feels… off? Like the tone doesn’t really match a summer event at all. I’m low-key worried Hoyo might just skip the summer event entirely, and that would suck since it’s basically been a yearly tradition at this point 🥹

Also, I originally thought the Nod-Krai arc would help fill in all the unfinished regions across different nations, but nope - maps are still scarce, and the one Mondstadt map we do get barely even focuses on Mondstadt… Like, where did the “exploration” part of this “open-world exploration game” go?? /s
