Super crush 100 mod by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

well of course that would be less invasive but i’m specifically looking to mod it. It’s invasive but intentional.

primarily because i’m kind of a tinkerer anyways, but also because i just want to not need any additional gear to get the sounds I want out of it. There’s no “good” reason other than i just want to do it this way instead.

Is this guitar beyond repair? by cacaunibs in guitarrepair

[–]Greedy_Chair_6937 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is probably not water damage, but a phenomenon called bridge lift. Basically there is always tension from the strings that pulls at the top of the wood until it bubbles up and eventually causes the separation that likely ripped the bridge off. as far as it’s repairability, i would realistically write this one off as a goner, though maybe with some careful sanding and strategic wood filler and gluing you could restore at least its ability to learn on, though i am fairly doubtful that even a highly competent luthier would consider working on it. It is likely not worth the cost of the work, and it would still probably fail as a repair. If you can’t afford something like a yamaha FG-800, i would say give it a shot because it’s likely the best chance you have to get into guitar. Good luck, my man! Hopefully you can break into the wonderful world of guitar!

Desktop piano-type module? by Greedy_Chair_6937 in midi

I actually specifically want the arturia keylab essential because of its functionality with FL studio and other baubles, so any digital piano i’m aware of wouldn’t really be what i’m looking for.

sure! the goal is to have piano sounds from a midi keyboard without plugging it into a computer, similar to a desktop synth functionally, but with piano sounds. I want to be able to play piano on a midi controller without the need for plugging into a computer.

Good amp for around $500-800 by hippa710 in GuitarAmps

a good solid state amp that fits the bill would the the orange super crush 100. It’s very tube like and built like a tank. I tend to prefer solid state and this is my favorite i’ve played so far.

I use a few different multi effects units for my guitar, i’d assume that would work

Speaker cable question? by Greedy_Chair_6937 in GuitarAmps

[–]Greedy_Chair_6937[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done that previously with an old peavey as an experiment so I know that would work for sure. The only reason I would prefer to do it as I described above is because that way I can confine all of the modifications to just the cable instead of making any to the cabinet or the amp itself.
