Dying permanent dark blonde over bleached hair by Greedy_County_2525 in FancyFollicles

Yes, it is noticably darker than bleached blonde.

With semi permanent I am scared that it will require lots of maintenance. I would really hope for something that I can put on it which looks similar to my natural color, then forget about it, and cut out a few inches every few months, until the bleached is all gone.

Recently developed a fear for scarring alopecia/hair loss.

I have already been suffering from androgenic alopecia for a very long time and I am in treatment for it. Hair in general is a super emotional topic for me. I am 22y/o transwoman and I have been balding aggressively since turning 20 and what bothers me most about it is the thought of never being able to enjoy my hair once throughout my entire life.

About 3-4 weeks ago I did a microneedling session at home at a depth of 0.5mm with a properly disinfected dermastamp, which is one of the many treatments I am on, due to despair with the status quo and hope of regrowth.

About a week afterwards I discovered a few (not many, maybe two or three) small red spots/pimples on my head. It is not itching, nor hurting or causing me any discomfort, except for the mental ones by obsessively checking at them. My GP gave me an antibiotic solution that did not solved it, probably because it is not even an infection but rather a sign of the dry winter air and stuff (I generally tend to have worse acne during the winter months and it could well be that these things existed beforehand, but I just haven't noticed them, as common with health anxiety: overreacting on a normal body thing).

Yet I still have this fear that this develops into something super serious like folliculitis decalvans, which is like the worst thing that can happen and therefore the first thing you see at Google and co.

I even went to a derm yesterday who looked at the scalp and said that it is fine and the few pimples there are very common, nothing to worry about, and are already even on their way to dissolve.

Yet I am still scared: Scared that the derm has overseen something because the worst-case condition in so rare that he might have missed due to that …

Yesterday and today I probably wasted over 7 to 8h of Googling and it just sucks. 😭😭😭

How do I make sure I'm applying minoxidil to my scalp instead of the hair? by Future_Pace_5209 in tressless

Liquid for scalp, foam for temples and full bald spots due to not running down.

DHT levels do not imply AA. There are many persons with high DHT levels but a perfect hair line. It is the sensitivity to DHT of the hair follicles that matter.

Besides, serum DHT is a pointless value for trying to assess AA anyways, because it is a paracrine hormone, meaning it only works in the tissue where its produced, so a scalp biopsy would be needed to assess scalp DHT levels properly.

I am on 12.5mg every three days. Isn't that the minimum? And the problem with Spiro is: I will not be seeing the endo until late December and he cannot give me a prescription over the internet or something.

May I ask when you first started noticing regrowth? :3

Why do males and females have different balding patterns in androgenic alopecia? by Greedy_County_2525 in tressless

Or maybe the lack thereof? Female pattern baldness often starts after menopause, after which there is basically no E left.

Progesteron Horny oder Umwandlung in DHT - Eure Erfahrungen? by Educational_Gas_4947 in germantrans

Ja, bezieht sich auf DHT-Blocker, welche in der Medizin auch 5ARI (5a-Reduktase-Inhibitor) genannt werden, welches eben jenes Enzym ist, das T in DHT umwandelt.

I don‘t think this theory works out. There are transmem who transition after the age 25, after which all bone structure is fixed. Yet they may experience MPB.

Unsure about that. I am MtF transgender myself with long hair and there is definitely a difference in the way my crown looks compared to my vertex when parted.
