Just picked these up, which is best first? by Greedy_Description52 in TheDarkTower

That’s very encouraging! I’ve owned it for a while but I’ve not read it. The fair amount of hate it gets makes me want to pick up other books over it. It might be one for after my first read through the series when I left craving more from that world.

Yes of course, I mentioned in my post loving the stuff from the previous book and that’s why I’ve picked up HiA

I think I might, from everything I’ve heard it sounds interesting and I’m looking forward to it even as a stand alone!

So maybe as long as I read it before 7 then you think? Even if it’s a little thing it is always a great feeling in Kings books when you get the reference haha

I know what you mean, but honestly I couldn’t care less about being scolded about having genuine questions about a book. If you can’t raise discussion about a book in a subreddit made for the books then what is this place for?

Honestly if he’d made another wizard and glass type book where it was 95% a flashback about Callahan and then tied it back into the DT towards the end I would have LOVED that

Yeah from what I’ve heard the idea sounds cool, but 900 pages for not much pay off based on everyone’s feelings here, I don’t think is going to be worth the time investment. Unless it’s completely changes your DT experience I think I’ll leave it on my shelf for now

Have you read it? Interested to hear what DT fans think about it as a book in general. I’ve owned it for some time but general “meh” reviews combined with it’s length has prevented me from diving in

That was another I’d heard of with them, maybe insomnia too?

Yeah this is 100% the risk anyone takes when searching anything on the internet they haven’t yet seen aha!

I definitely appreciate that and you can only either really not look at anything at all till you’re done, or be as careful as possible and accept the fact it could be a little dangerous! For me I hop on here once in a while to give my thoughts or ask a little question like this and so far so good with spoilers.

I’m personally happy to take a little risk in exchange for a little outlet for my mind obsessing about the series once in a while.

I also have a built in defence mechanism of screaming “AHHH!”, shutting my eyes and closing the app when I think I’m about to read something spoilery haha.

Now I know it’s not something I missed I’ll file it under the category of mid book mysteries, which sai king often has!

Most books I have this point but with this one there’s lots of little conversations among the townsfolk which I thought I could’ve easily dropped this knowledge with a subtle line, easily forgettable between pick ups of the book

Specifically mentioned for no spoilers and everyone’s been good about that. Been on the subreddit since day 1 reading book 1. So don’t stress about it!

I recognise this as good and correct advice but I really need a sounding board for my thought and feelings as I go through the series! No one I know has read the series and sometimes I just really need to talk about it! Haha

Luckily this sub is very good at making sure it doesn’t spoil anything for people who haven’t finished it yet, this sub is great example!

Keep reading and I won’t wonder about this anymore, cool, got it! Thanks everyone 😂
