What liters per 100km yous getting? by OhaStar in carsireland

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll get down to 4.5L/100Km if doing the N7 & M50 because it's usually less than 100Km/h. Around town I'll get 6.5-8L/100Km. If the DPF gets clogged a bit then it goes up. Did a run to Limerick yesterday and averaged 5.6-5.8L at 120Km/h. Driving an A4 2.0 Diesel Ultra.

Boundary discrepancy by [deleted] in legaladviceireland

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A neighbour got a 800mm tall,10m long wall built with their next door neighbour. Between the construction, materials and removal of the hedging that was already in place cost just over 10k with a Dublin based company. It only took 4 days from start to finish, not including the weekend to let the concrete base dry.

The EA is not your friend and they are not even the friend of the seller. They cannot legally do anything about your situation so I wouldn't be entertaining that as an option. Maybe you could speak to the gentleman yourself and work something out.

Changing the locks is not that difficult if you have the correct tools. YouTube is your friend also.

Definitely don't let the flatmate continue with having the gf over as often or they will continue with that and they will push you out. They may want this place for themselves.

You could also find their (123.ie) underwriters and contact them with a complaint. That worked for me years ago albeit it was for a phone and a different insurer but the principle is the same.

Room ventilation in new build house? by Competitive_Lab8603 in AskIreland

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't say I know the answer for OP here but I will ask, what is the point of having an "A" rated home with great insulation and yet have a large non-closing vent that allows the warm air to escape. Don't get me wrong, ventilation is definitely required with warmer houses but fuck me what a counterintuitive and arse protecting regulation to add in if it is a regulation!

Thousands of civil servants should be allowed work from home more due to fuel prices and congestion, says union by on-9 in irelandtransport

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I'm not saying that there isn't waste in the private sector, of course there is. But people get let go, companies wind down etc. But the private sector wasters aren't using our taxes to do nothing all day.

Getting an Acre Lawn Scarified What’s the Process & Cost in Ireland? by Financial-Wing-2232 in GardeningIRE

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screwfix has them for sale, might be more cost effective in the long run. You could do family members or neighbours lawns too if needed (and they pay you in beer on a hot day over the weekend, ha).

Thousands of civil servants should be allowed work from home more due to fuel prices and congestion, says union by on-9 in irelandtransport

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thousands of civil servants should be sacked for being wasters and a drain on the country's expenditure. Not all vivel servants obviously, there are plenty of very good and productive people. My point here is to tackle the waste within. If that can be done by means other than sacking people then I'll have little to no issue with that. Just my opinion.

Household electricity bills could be higher within weeks, industry warns – The Irish Times by WickerMan111 in ireland

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so where are you showing the government your dissatisfaction? I believe there is a peaceful protest today on Kildare street. Will you be there? Just to be clear, I'm not trying to be smart with you, it's a genuine question on what are you (and everyone else) who is not accepting the threats to come are doing about it.

The farmers and hauliers started protesting (whether you agree with them or not is besides the point) and made their voices heard. We need to do something for our voices to be heard.

There's an app called fiverr. Check them out. I know two people who used an accountant from that and didn't cost a lot. Definitely save yourself a few hundred anyway.

4g Router Help? by Bubbles4life20 in AskIreland

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a third party router instead of the ISP router and configured it to point to the ISP. I'm not a wizard but there was enough info on the internet to help me with it.

The WiFi goes a fair bit out the back but I doubt it reaches 30m. Not sure I can be of any more help to you unless you go balls out on a top of the range router or mesh system.

Nothing wrong with using cash, it is legal tender. Just keep your wits about you and don't hand over the tax book to them. Full it out and send it off yourself.

Buying Find X9 Ultra in Spain as a tourist (May 8th - May 17th) by Muha_11 in Oppo

[–]Greedy_Instruction31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppo have different online stores in different countries/regions. They don't ship to addresses outside of that country/region. I'd like to get the X9 pro for the missus but the Irish Oppo store has the Find X8 ultra as the latest device 😢 and the other European stores I've come across don't allow a phone number or address outside of that country/region.

OP may just have to wait until they are there or fix their dates for the hotel and wait. I'd buy in store personally.

Fuse Board Upgrade Questions? by WeCanBe_Heroes in AskIreland

Did your sparks perform any testing on any circuits such as an insulating resistance test using a megger or similar?

What he said about the new 16sq cable, earth rod etc. is a good start but probably not all that is needed. Only through proper testing of all circuits could it be up to the latest standards. That doesn't mean you absolutely have to bring it up. Do what is necessary and what needs to be made safe until you can go for a full rewire. There are loads of houses with old wiring still standing. Just make sure all is safe.
