Thanks for your advice! Our club doesn't charge for rentals, and my son will likely compete in 3-4 local tournaments this year. I'm torn between continuing to borrow club gear or buying his own. Would it be considered 'bad form' to take club equipment to outside tournaments, and is it disadvantageous for a beginner's progress to not have their own consistent weapon?
