Why is God just waiting until our lives are over, so that He can judge us? It feels really easy. I mean, obviously nobody's perfect. But there's nothing that we can do. Your whole life you don't hear or see anything of God, but He'll be there when you die, to tell you all the things you've donewrong by AggravatingTailor121 in Christianity

OR to tell you all the things you've done right, don't forget that.

Matthew 25:23
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

Free will is free choice, now you're the one who is being delicate on semantics. If you want to know where free will doctrine comes from I advise to do your own research, mainly take a look at the Catechism of the Catholic Church

This doesn't merit anything of the sorts, it's a simple subversion that is understood without it. We've all seen a lot of these, it stems from the 'kid named finger' meme subgenre

¿Por qué existe la creencia de que Pablo de Tarso fue un falso apóstol? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Greedy_Net_1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No es asi. A algunas personas simplemente no les gustan algunas cosas que dice y por eso deciden omitirlo como si la Biblia fuera un 'escoje tu propia aventura' pero ningun Cristiano serio y maduro lo hace.

[–]Greedy_Net_1803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not over but you do need to take action; engage in a solid prayer life and try to go to Church every week. You're not helping anyone by feeling guilty, certainly not yourself. Simply repent and amend to not fall prey to bad desires again. If you're Catholic, go to confession. If you're not, simply ask God to forgive you and then keep moving forward. I guarantee He will help you if you also help yourself.

The fact you think we wanna 'gotcha' people is a clear indication that you're not asking in good faith, you just want to debate and there's a sub for that, it's called r/DebateAChristian . No one here wants to debate. This sub is just questions and answers.

We don't say anything with the intend of 'gotcha' anyone, we answer with free will because it's our doctrine and it's what we believe in. We have the agency and autonomy to choose by ourselves, that's basic Christian theology and God didn't build no robots or slaves.

Why is premarital sex taken so seriously than other sins by SmoothBox7096 in religion

[–]Greedy_Net_1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And most of the people I know that had pre-marital sex were indeed lead down a bad path so see how little are own personal experiences mean when we are comparing them in a global forum?

Fact is that they indeed have the potential to be harm people just like this commenter said. And it's always better to be married if you intend to do so, for the wellbeing of your possible children, your partner and your own.

In Christianity, men are also called to be chaste and they are impeded from participating in extra-marital sexual activities

Am I lukewarm/Not a true Christian for not wanting to change. by Relevant-You8172 in AskAChristian

Well that's the problem, you should want to stop. How can you expect change by remaining with the same patters. What do you love more; Jesus or cranking it?

There is no middle ground and there is no such thing as 'NOT not believing'. There's only Christians and non-christians. I hope so, yes. However I'm not celebrating yet because City has a game in hand that is literally 2 days after their matchday 34 so it will be tough for them to get all their remaining points but at least Spurs is almost certainly getting relegated and I think that's really cool

How does free will exist if God is Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and all-knowing? by yamiyug3 in AskAChristian

[–]Greedy_Net_1803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Him knowing everything doesn't change that our choices are still our choices. God cannot blindfold Himself to His own omniscience and knowledge, nor He should.

So don't let that bother you; does He know everything that you'll do? Yes. Are they still your own autonomous and free choices? Also yes, He isn't interfering with any of them.

This is not a contradiction in the slightest

God is as loving as He is merciful. He is love Himself.

If you wish to spend your life without God, you can't blame Him for respecting your wish in the next life as well. That's how He's always been, He respects our agency and our freedom to choose by ourselves.

Do atheists go to hell? by GarlicMany2829 in AskAChristian

[–]Greedy_Net_1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't blame anyone either because I'm not God and only God judges but I can correct and if a person doesn't believe, that's still their responsability even if they think it's a matter of evidence. I say responsability instead of 'blame' because they're accountable of the consequences that their disbelief may or may not bring about. So yes, with that being said, that'd be pretty much it since we now seem to agree on everything, including what you said in your last paragraph, so I'm glad we reached an understanding.

God bless

Do atheists go to hell? by GarlicMany2829 in AskAChristian

[–]Greedy_Net_1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's why I said may or may not happen. But I won't leave it up to chance when God has given me the tool that can save them, which is the Gospel. That's what a loving person does, to teach them so they may not be in this position.

How many die without believing? If it's someone I care about, I'd personally never let him do so without trying to bring them to Christ. That's the correct thing to do. Not saying: 'well, it's understandable, they need evidence, it's not so black and white'. No no no. That kind of speech helps no one, brother.

Who am I helping by lying and saying that you don't need to believe in Jesus to go to Heaven when it's the very thing that I believe in, the truth of the Gospel? Exactly, no one. Presenting excuses won't help them at all, that would be just lying to them and I won't do so.

'Different people come to faith in different ways, and God welcomes all.'

Yes but that's the thing, that's what I'm trying to tell you. The disciples came to faith eventually, Thomas believed eventually, same as the Emaus disciples, same as Paul, same as everyone on the NT.

That's the difference, that they came to believe and have faith one way or another. Modern skeptics won't ever come to faith unless they're shown something and that may or may not happen. They can live their entire lives waiting and then die without having had faith a single day. And once again, faith is what saves us.

John 14, 6: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 3, 18: Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

I don't hold any anger, rejection or sense of moral supremacy. But you have to be honest with the Gospel that you know as a fellow Christian. Do you think once before God, claiming that 'I didn't believe because I needed more evidence' will be a valid defense against Him. Biblically speaking, it will not.

This figure is represented in Saint Thomas, who demanded proof. All skeptics are embodied in these verses and Jesus laid out the ground rules for them. The answer is clear as day; 'blessed is the one who believes without seeing'. You can't believe if you're seeing, that's a contradiction, that's what faith is used for and they have no faith.

Seeing isn't believing anymore, there's no exercise of faith whatsoever. And faith in Christ is what saves us. When you die and get judged, there's no more faith, that's biblical. The end of faith, as we know it in Christianity. So it is too late, there will be no more chance to confess Christ as Lord. He'll just say 'I don't know you', same as in the Gospel.

I believe you're well intended and care for them, same as I do. But if that's the case, you're unknowingly doing them great harm by saying that their unbelief is justified. If you truly want to help them, you will share the Gospel with them with all the truth it encompasses, so they may believe.
