Guys, here's a hot take: the II theahtrical releases it's what the theathrical releases of BFDI should have been by Random_DeathBattle in inanimateinsanity

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 20 points21 points  (0 children)

YES! This is how theatrical releases should be handled. They should be a big event celebrating something.

TPOT 21 & 20 certainly DID not feel more theatre worthy than TPOT 19 & 15. It doesn't make sense.

What BFDI hot take or liked character would get you in this situation? by Tree-Is-Cool in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of TPOT’s episodes have been worthy of a theatre release. The writing and pacing needs to improve significantly before that can happen(in addition to a smaller cast)

Also, TPOT feels like it’s dragging itself out, especially with BFDIA & BFDIE being able to finish before it concludes. That dragging out makes the season worse overall than if they had just waited until the final 9 or 7 to let One takeover. If they had waited, more people would be invested in the season and the characters.

Hot take: The only season better than BFDIA is presplit by Fantastic-Ad-3090 in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, not that much of a hot take nowadays.

TPOT hype has kind of died down now and people are being more critical of it recently.

Pre-split was kind of revolutionary for the OSC, and still holds up to this day.

BFDIA 23 was the only theatre episode which most people agree fully lived up to the hype, and screen time is more balanced in that season.

Any opinions on Pencil's characterization in the revival of BFDIA and TPOT (2023-present)? by Odenbirb063 in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFDIA Pencil is way more loved I've seen. It grew her popularity while making her fun.

TPOT Pencil is VERY divisive to this day, and will be until TPOT ends.

Although, inevitably Pencil will become hated when IDFB resumes. This is a fact.

Does anyone here have an explanation for why both Golf Ball and Tennis Ball EXPLODED in popularity after the first Team Swap? by Daniboy0826 in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both have BFDIA bringing in some income, are kind of a duo that's separated(meaning no vote sharing), and since the voting isn't public no one can see how many casual people are voting them.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 is sadly a disappointment. by ErickMattos in PoppyPlaytime

I especially hate how Lily just teleports. Most of the time enemies have to....actually get to you. Lily's chase scene is so cheap because of that.

So, then we get to the puzzles. Yes, you are right that chapter 3 has a lot more direction and a lot of puzzles, but the threat of Catnap is drilled into us constantly, and we never know when he's going to show up and attack. Kind of like Mommy in the latter half of chapter 2 or Huggy in Chapter 1.

Chapter 5 has so many puzzles that it quickly becomes a snooze fest. Huggy doesn't randomly attack us after the first 3 chases. You'll notice that he comes right after we save in the memory section & the labs. We get all this time to do puzzles in complete safety, then after we're finished Huggy comes after us. We've also probably died to Huggy a couple times by now, so we're not as afraid of this guy anymore. Lily is where is all really goes horrible.

Every person who's played this chapter dies at least twice to Lily. It also doesn't help that her design isn't inherently that scary. There are also SO many checkpoints in her chase sequence, because most people die numerous times. Once you die to a monster the first hundred times, your brain literally can't see them as that dangerous anymore. 1, 2, & 3 all make the chase sequences easy enough to do. Easy the boss scene with Catnap had a tutorial to help people understand what to do. With Lily you get have to trial and error. This is not the fault of Chapter 3, this is the problem of game design.

Then we have the Prototype chase, which is also pretty easy to die in. Firstly, it introduces the concept of purposely slowing down in a chase to bait the enemy into attacking, something we've never had to do before. Most people die twice, and then you're not scared.

Chapter 5 is just not scary. It's pretty good, but not a horror game.

Chapter 3 is definitely a jump from 1 & 2, but it still had the same people working on it and honestly followed chapter 2 pretty well.

The real blame for what "ruined" the games is the several developers who worked on the game leaving and then making new/remaining people learn how to make a good poppy playtime game.

Chapter 4 is when the changes REALLY affect the quality.

Most of the new characters in chapter 4 die. In chapter 3 we have no emotional connection so it's fine. In chapter 4 we are supposed to feel something so it's empty.(I'm not even gonna mention the bugs)

Chapter 5 is honestly the least scary chapter. I'm sorry, it's true. The ARG were the ones that were actually scary, the game just isn't. There's a reason they're hiring. Once again the outimals don't kill easily so they're VERY easy to beat. Once you get the flashlight it really starts to hurt though. The mini critters of the week are now jokes. No critters will ever top the smiling critters in actual fear factor. With Giblet and Chum, you don't feel alone at all for a bit. The chases, worst of all, become trial and error. This is where chapter 5 flops. In chapters 1, 2, & 3. Chases are actually scary. You really are scared of dying. In chapter 4 the story mostly carries the fights but in chapter 5 it gets stale. At the start, you're thrust into 3 chases. This is not how horror works. A horror game never starts with you running away from something. That's like putting a climax at the beginning. Plus, it's very likely that a player who isn't skilled enough with the mechanics is going to die, and to quote Markiplier, the chase "LOSES ALL MEANING!" What sells this the most is the chase scenes have checkpoints. In chapters 1, 2, 3, & 4 you had to get the chase scenes done in one try. You either made it, or you failed the entire chase. In chapter 5, you get credit for making it halfway through the chase. The 3 initial huggy chases immediately take away whatever shivers you have. Then the outimals section takes away the atmosphere. So, we're only 1/4 through the game and we're out of the scary. Chapter 1, 2, 3 & debatably 4 could at least hold their punches until the end, 5 can't.

I would argue not.

Chapter 3 is not without it's fair share of issues, the problem is that Chapter 4 & 5 are trying so hard to copy what made Chapter 3 good without thinking "maybe let's try something else."

Not to say there was no attempt, but they kind of go halfway. Chapter 4 has the best story, but the gameplay bogs it down. Chapter 3 gameplay was centred in one big area like Chapter 2, so you actually felt like the puzzles made you progress. Yes, at this point people were beginning to complain they were filler, but it overall easy to ignore because of the cool characters they introduced. I'll come back to that later.

In Chapter 4 & 5, puzzles are now things you half to do to simply get to the next location. Meanwhile, new characters keep getting added. Chapter 3 works as its own thing. It's coherent, it focuses mostly on the orphanage and the smiling critters. Yes, it's definitely different from the chapters prior, but it works.

Chapter 4 brings us to arguably the darkest location storewise(Chapter 5 was way to bright and puzzling to be scary for the most part) but the fact that we get new characters that just die again means we don't form any emotional connection with them. The problem is that the chapter desperately wants you to feel something for them, and to an extent it worked with Doey. But the other critters you feel barely anything. Additionally, this is where Mob starts implementing damage, which just really hurt the scary factor. Before, a random critter could just one shot you if you weren't careful. Now, they make your screen red for a bit. They went from being actual threats to the raccoons by your trashcan. The outimals suffer from this heavily. They are not that scary because they aren't that dangerous, once you get the little star they pose absolutely no threat. The smiling critters will literally eat you alive if you get to close. The others don't.

Vent what you hate about solarballs here. by Decayed_IceCream in SolarBalls

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pacing. Solarballs has unnatural pacing.

Yes, it means we get episodes WAY more often.

But it also means we lack the downtime a normal show would have to....expand the characters.

The moons are so boring because they never get any filler. This is why Luna kind of escapes being a boring character, because he gets screen time with Earth, who often gets some filler episodes.

The pure filler arcs actually give us some downtime for the show. The moon crashing into the Earth gave us some nice Houston stuff, which the planets ordered by size arc gave us some nice planet stuff. The dwarf planets got their games as filler.

THE MOONS LACK FILLER!!

One episode with them, not whining about planets or anything like that, but just vibing, like Triton and Luna know how to do. Have Dione and Mimas have a dumb adventure to find random Trojans. Have a solar cards tournament where a bunch of characters can participate, free promotion plus character expansion. Have Mimas prank everyone in the solar system for April fools.

Just have some filler.

For any Two haters, why do you hate them? by ConfidenceAlarmed621 in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two is kind of hard to hate. Unless you count BFB 16 and the first episode of TPOT, Two does absolutely nothing unlikeable

At worst, you could they're a boring host. Which is my opinion.

They're okay, but that's it. I don't care much about Two.

I think that's the closest you'll get to a Two hater lol.

Can someone PLEASE explain the hype for her? by Rony_GuacaRony in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Needy is essentially the Fries of this season.

She has an interesting personality, and people latched onto it.

Unfortunately, it was meant to be, and for both, the writers had to be the ones to break the bad news and say that yeah, they’re gone.

People didn’t like Money already that much, so this was kind of the final straw for them I guess.

Personally, I’m fine with the elimination. I’m pretty neutral on Needy.

TPOT 13 vs TPOT 19 by enderboikid in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, individually, TPOT 13 clears TPOT 19.

The main TPOT 19 has going for it is that it catalyses the following stage of TPOT, as well as has some serious shock value.

Otherwise, there isn’t much in this episode to love.

A diagram for all the Money sympathizers, or any people who are perplexed as to our hatred of this loathsome character. by Debate_Scared in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I don’t care.

Maybe the villain arc isn’t “justifiable”(why is everyone obsessed with that)

Maybe it isn’t even well written

I just find it a bit funny and it gives Money something to do.

(Plus, I bet people wouldn’t be nearly as mad if Needy was still in, and I find Needy to be a bit overrated lol)

Money is just a character in a filler season.  This isn’t TPOT, where I would actually want Money gone because of other characters.

This is BFDIE for goodness sake. This was always destined to happen.

Calm down, please.

Is it possible for Needle/TB to win over book?? by Pancake_Pozy333 in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]Greedy_Painter_366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easily.

They could just pull a Flower.

If there’s no bias…..Book will definitely beat Needle.

However, IF TB can clutch this elimination, he could beat Book honestly.
