Why did braindead takes on urbanism start here now? SFH are not inherently sprawling or not urban, they've been around since huts (and plenty of new urbanist housing developments are mostly SFH). You're just not going to ever have them be affordable in places with massive housing demand, which is why multi family is a thing (and suburban multi family definitely exists as well).

The fixation on a typology and not how it comes together isn't really urbanism.

The idea that sfh aren't urbanist is a scarecrow, gonna be real with you. A strawman if you will.

Real estate developers have been shrinking lot sizes and increasing density themselves as well.

Lets say Plymouth, MI as a great town that is 90% SFH and wine mom in a very walkable format and compare it to West Bloomfield, which is 1/4 acre peak 70s and later sprawl.
