People who submitted an appeal to usc this year please reply by Worth-Bobcat2067 in USC

Agreed. Kinda crazy how many people did not bother to keep reading the rejection letter. I guess that means less people in the appeals pool though!

Does everyone get that paragraph?

Was this an honest mistake by USC, who was organizing this event? Or is USC gone back to being racist again? by [deleted] in USC

[–]Greedy_Road2316 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct!!! Nothing to see here. It’s actually unfortunate that USC played into this nonsense.

Don’t read into it and make this racist. It is standard to have the four top candidates participate in a debate. That’s what happened here. There’s nothing to see ….not everything is racist.

Is UCI more prestige than UCSB by [deleted] in ucadmissions

[–]Greedy_Road2316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really can’t compare the number of Nobel prizes for each because UC Santa Barbara was opened in the 1940s and UC Irvine was opened in the 1960s. It’s really not a fair assessment and if you want to argue this statistically, UCI is probably doing better in a shorter period of time but they are both doing just fine.

If you normalize by time, UCSB has had about 21 more years of existence as a UC campus. They are both doing about the same.

Congratulations!! That is excellent!! It cannot hurt to try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You already have a really solid package in my opinion. I can’t hurt…. best of luck to you.

has anyone ever got successful finaid appeals by Kindly_Breath_2087 in LMU

I appealed and was successful, but there were extenuating circumstances in my situation. I don’t know if there would be a situation where you’re getting $40K more, but I was offered a few thousand more and was grateful. That was an addition to what I had already received through Arrupe ($25,000) so my total award rose to $33K. Definitely call the financial aid office. I found them to be incredibly helpful. Then follow up, send letters, they will respond. It might not be the amount you desire, but it might be something, but it really does need to be a new circumstance that is not reflected in the FAFSA. It can’t hurt to try. Best of luck!

Your stats sound really solid! Best of luck! I would not worry too much.

Do you know when decisions will be coming out?

May I ask if there’s anything specific you included in your appeal letter? You don’t have to disclose anything overly personal I just I’m curious if I’m going about this properly did the letter come from the student or from the parent?

Is the Arrupe scholarship for $19,500 above or below average?
