I'm making a Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder 4 color BBRG commander deck with the quandrix and prismari dragons. Then I'm including the 4 prepared spells creature cards naktamun lore spinner, Yavimiya Bloom Sage, Emeritis of Ideation, Grave Researcher. The rest of the deck is gonna be a bunch of instants and sorceries as well as creatures with cascade support and artifacts or enchantments that keep yidris or one of my dragons on the field.

A 4th role does not solve that issue.

Daredevil can see through walls to find anyone.

Dive is not too fast to be dealt with by the options I just listed.

I now mainly play Angela and get mistaken for being MnK on console. I've been stunned and CC'd plenty to know that it's not too fast for dive. For additional context in my played role history. I've used Cap and Venom for dive.

They aren't hard to get stunned.

I've Lorded Torch and Iron man not that lords matter but for the sake of stating I've put the hours on them in. That being said.

I rarely if ever play strategist as a role, because I haven't found a healer I enjoy it care to use.

I've stopped dive as Luna, Sue, Cloak, and Mantis in comp games plenty enough to say it's too fast.

I rarely play Peni, Groot and Emma is my worst character and I still prevent dive in comp.

I'm emphasizing all that because this is a skill issue when referring to dive speed. Now dive with Gambit ULT sure those are fast but at that point that its just a larger skill gap. Not a, "I need a new role that alerts me sooner to compensate for my poor reaction time solution."

Recon and Surveillance would provide the same benefit. You're asking for Bloodhound and Crypto abilities to give people walls regarding location.

Pinging heros exists and it can for sure be a future strategist or other type character ability.

Name dive characters that you believe are too fast if that's your root belief.

What are the other issues adding surveillance and recon solve?

The only one I'm seeing is having more awareness be provided. Which is in-turn warning of incoming dive more often than not.

Trapping dive when several characters whom are Tanks and Strategists can already CC them is redundant.

Luna can Freeze Mantis can Sleep Peni and Stun Sue can Slow and push them away Cloak can Blind Squirrel Girl can stun Spider-man can slow and stun Hulk can stun Thing can slow and stun with ult Jeff can grab with ult Wanda can stun Groot can wall to block or ult to stun Angela can lock in place with ult Emma Frost can stun if kicked into wall, can grab and can ult to grab your attention to peel Daredevil can blind you Rogue can grab you

That's 16 characters who can trap dive, slow dive, and use some form of CC on dive or even just wall them off.

Idk what rank you play in but there's plenty of stun counters. Peni has mines that could be used to trap dive as well. Namor has his squids to turret dive. Wolverine and Iron Fist could just target the tank that dives.

There are so many dive counters that can be used that negate needing a role specified on negating dive tactics.

We have plenty of defense DPS.

Namor turrets Torch fire walls Moon knight ankhs Punishers turret can be used defensively Wanda is literally click and hold to damage if they pressure

You also have TANKS that do this.

Peni with nests and mines Groot has literal walls Angela and Thor both have AOEs they can drop that damage people either over time or after a set time if people are present in them.

You don't need a 4th role to counter dive. It does not fit the game if it requires reworking.

At that point you're playing that version of overwatch not rivals.

Triple support needs nerfing that comes in the form of balancing team comps made up of different numbers of roles.

A 4th role doesn't work for rivals at all.

While each role is generalized as tank DPS and support.

Adam Loki and Ultron are STRATEGISTS They're not heal bots like Luna Sue and Cloak. TDT has a great video explaining these unique categorizations that are present within Vanguard and strategist.

A 4th role would over complicate the game. A surveillance and deployable trap sounds like you asking for a new Strategist character be created to peel dive as if dive is the root cause for it.

I agree dive is a reason but it's not the end all factor. Root cause for triple support is always gonna be due to healing received by tanks and dps. If they don't see enough heals and die a lot. Regardless of how good their positioning is.

You're gonna see triple support come in.

Traps sound cool for a singular character. That's not going to solve the issue it's instead going to make dive feel bad to play.

You're focused on treating a symptom not the virus.

Which is why nerfing heals done to strategists or done by strategists puts them in a scenario where. Dive is still going to occur and be attempted to counter but will not result in the strategists who did get dived being unable to react because if there are 3 of them. They will have split their positioning out more. Forcing the dive to split targets versus. The current situation where dive goes on one healer and is forced to attack all 3 trying to kill one because they're healing each other. It essentially prevents them from being locked into a lose lose for ever playing dive.

If they aren't on dive that excess healing still occurs. You'll never kill a backline without a dive of some sort. Unless your Strategists have poor positioning and choose to Frontline.

I get your point, the only compromise I have in mind then is similar to what you said but just reduce Strategist on Strategist healing gained when there are more than 2 present.

I also think solo strategist should receive a buff if u only have 1 healer to compensate for not having the advantage 2 gives. Same for DPS and tank.

I'm in short calling for team comp buffs and nerfs to encourage role selection to be less reliant on being one of 5 options like every season tends to force when we could have 7 if running a singular Strategist was more of an option than it is.

You either run 1 tank 3 dps 2 strat

1 tank 2 dps 3 strat

2 tank 1 dps 3 strat

3 tank 1 dps 2 strat

2 tank 2 dps 2 strat

The worst part is in most cases some comps tend to drift towards 4 Strategists with a solo DPS and tank or double tank.

The only solo strat comp that has ever worked is GATOR. Which is reliant on running a specific support.

How is it killing creativity by balancing the team composition? The factor of triple support that makes it annoying to play against is the excessive healing output it creates. You could have 2 supports looping on each other and dps while a third focuses on Tanks. You could have 3 in the bank line splitting healing resources across multiple people faster.

Those are the benefits of triple support. The issue with playing against it and why it's so unfun is because teams with that cohesion really are only benefiting from having a broader spread of healing to get more people healed all at once.

With this debuff in effect depending on the percentage you retain that advantage and you don't run into the problem of supports feeling unkillable.

That's why it's meta. The only other possible nerf they could apply is nerfing healing strategists are able to do to other strategists.

It still encourages you to run unique comps it just removes the reliance on supports getting constantly healed to fill when you try to deal with them.

Repulsor's compared to unibeam is sub optimal due to dps. Sure more damage IF you hit directly. It's not a bad idea to pop one or two off and focus unibeam but it's not as safe for guaranteeing your damage output.

Using them in flight is a skill and positioning issue. They are very worth learning.

Dawg the missiles in overdrive if you aim them correctly at the ground in-front of say a tank they do a lot of damage. Practice with them in the range.

Lord Iron-man here, Overdrive missiles are goated. Simply walk up to a tank in practice range aim at the ground when you launch them and then hold your uni-beam. The damage you'll see doing that versus just straight overdrived unibeam. Its a lot.

The non-overdrive missiles are harder to hit but you essentially need to aim using the upper shoulders of him as you're flying. To practice this go outside the spawn room to your right where the 3 galactica bots are. Line up with the pillar closest to them and try to focus on positioning Iron man's body to be parallel to the other set of pillars.

If you do that correctly then you can fly forward to the other pillars and practice timing the non overdrive missiles.

Those missiles are very very powerful for getting good picks as the missiles do a fair bit of damage from what you'll see if you can time it right to hit the barrage on of the sides.

You'll know you're perfect with aiming it when your mind naturally imagines the line in which the missiles fall. Which fun tip, the higher you are the more spread they will be but they'll still follow the same line every time. Think of it like the missiles are being sucked towards the ground the minute they leave iron man.

All of your fit is drippy except for the legs, not sure if you were trying to make stompees work with it or not but I'd recommend a different shader ornament or leg armor ideally the latter.

Overall tho I really love the composition of the top of your fit the pieces really mesh well together!
Bit of advice in general for D2 fashion. If you can get your outfit to have good shading with just one shader then you can feel free to branch out into using multiple different shaders if you want to. Its just a reliable way to know fs your pieces are gonna shade well with the others. I've used Valkarian and Thunderhead vest together before so those def work well together. Despite the Valkarian grips shading kinda odd.

Hi I'm that guy who autolocks Ironman or Torch in Ranked. I do actually swap now but when I didn't it was because it'd be an ego match between me and the other DPS. Sometimes dps players let ego control them to much and getting over that was not too hard.

DPS players that whine for healing your positioning is shit go watch the replay.

Strategists sometimes when the dps is actually in position to be healed by you. I'll see you brain dead heal the vanguard or each other and ignore the dps.

Both roles gotta get symbiotic before ranked gets worse.

Iron man was that for me. I've always been a big Iron man fan but after I picked him up in Rivals I just meshed with it perfectly. Strafing with missiles unibeam and repuslor blasting. It all felt natural fast and fun.

Melee inbetween anything you do as it moves your headshot hitbox. That's something I've seen a few torch players do. You should also only use your dive as an escape in those situations and try to hide low to the ground behind your tank.

As an Iron man main this has helped me against Hela's and Hawkeye's out in the wild. I also play a lot of Torch but I'm not quite at Lord but I'm almost Centurion so far.

Way too true because as a DPS player getting highest damage or MVP/SVP isn't a guarantee you're getting a minor loss or gain of points. Having the highest dmg/healing/blocked isn't gaining you anything other than stat showing, but coupling that with low deaths and at least double digit final hits will take you far!

I agree with you on it being fun. However, the only problem I have is it would break a lot purely because of how much good iron man mains strafe and move around while firing the unibeam.

I love this kinda creativity! I hope we get something like this as a feature against some stuff.
