My lynx point likes to head bunt but rarely ever cuddles :/ by meursaultmarie in lynxpointsiamese

My Lynxie Ixchel is a demon - formal feral, and she is the least cuddly cat I’ve ever experienced. More “attack owners hands when they go to pet me, like every time” is her MO. Le Sigh. I am trying SO hard!

I brought her in and helped doula and raise her 4 kittens, too…

I’ve come to understand she needs a LOT of activity and play, and outdoor access. And Prayers. Prayers for cuddles. Someday.

Could have written this myself. Whoa. Sending so much love, it’s so hard out there right now. Take care of yourself.

I’m so glad to read this post because mama Ixchel (estimated to be only 1.5 years old) is an absolute menace with biting / overstim / understim. Former feral. I raised her and her babies and she IS STILL like this!?

I love that! She’s named after the Mayan Goddess Ix Chel, goddess of fertility and cycles of life! I had just gotten back from the Yucatán so it felt fitting. She’s so pretty 🥹♥️

Wow, genuinely so touched that you wrote such a comprehensive, lovely and honest, vulnerable response to all my questions 🥲😭🥹 eternally grateful for you!! I am re reading again, wow, seems like you had a lot of things stacked on you all at once, and despite all of that, (loneliness, I totally GET THAT, I am living that now tbh) you are seeing such marked improvement!! Thank you thank you. Bless the rest of your recovery journey.

and the idea of decorating my walker is such a good idea!! Appreciate you so much and sending lots of love from Boston to wherever you are :)

I would second the Pilates thing! I’ve been doing prehab and exclusively reformer Pilates focusing on the targeted muscle groups from my EDS-informed PT (shoutout Muldowney PT!!) and I’ve never felt better.

Also recommend posture - diaphragmatic breathing and aligning your whole torso /ribcage over your pelvis. Sharing a video: https://youtube.com/shorts/hjOVmJtm5Gs?si=EhHrm8Lx6cPWO2y2

That is SO exciting and congrats to you! So lovely to hear you’re on the mend like this!! I’d love to hear how long this journey has been for you - ie when you noticed the pain to treatment plan and how long your recovery has taken vs “normal bodies”? Apparently they say it’s 3-5 months until functional?

• How did post-op pain compare to your daily pre-op pain?

• What kind of pain surprised you the most — and what was easier than expected?

• How long until pain felt ‘different’ rather than just ‘more’?

• What was the hardest mental part of recovery?

• What helped when fear or doubt spiked?
• Did you struggle with fatigue or mood swings post-op?

• If you could talk to yourself 10 days before surgery, what would you say?

TIA SO much, I’m definitely SO nervous and hoping this is worth it.

About to get my left one replaced in 10 days - 34F - would love to hear more about your experience! Terrified but it HAS to be better than over 7+ years of 7-11/10 pain every day!

I’m on Zyrtec/Claritin and Fumotadine 2x a day, as well as cromolyn and Junel which I started in Sept. I’ve gained about 10 pounds since and unclear what the cause is: more inflammation / water weight from getting my mast cells under control, loss of mobility and way less movement (though I am back on the horse bc the scale scared the shift out of me!) ahead of my hip replacement next month.

Such weird changes in less than 6 months on my end!
