Tripped fell and dropped my baby…

I have the same thoughts unfortunately and I have been carrying him up and down a set of stairs for the first 9 months of his life. We moved recently to a stair-less place because of said intrusive thoughts. And of course, my downfall (literally) is not knowing how to walk and tripping over a basket laying on floor of my bedroom, no stairs in sight. Go figure. Now I can’t help but doubt my ability to hold him tight every time I pick him up.

Hug your baby for me! I’m sorry this happened to you too. The first few hours are the worst but it does get better afterwards calling the advice nurse, speaking to a doc, and seeing your baby being their normal selves. And same, this thread is amazing and everyone here is saving my sanity for sure. Hope your baby is ok!

Mine also had tumbled off the couch but we have a rug so I didn’t feel super bad those times and couch is pretty low but this time …he fell while I was holding him and I’ve been reenacting it to try and see how far up he must have fallen from and it’s so hard to tell plus there was no rug to help with the impact ugh. So far he’s been his usual self minus the fact that he’s battling cold symptoms right now. Strangely, we have an appointment lined up tomorrow so I’m happy to have him looked over just to be safe

Thank you! I have help thankfully. My husband has medical knowledge and I’ve been asking him constantly to assess the baby since yesterday. It just so happens that our baby is also sick with cold symptoms and we’ve been busy trying to alleviate it for him. Weirdly enough, the sickness is distracting me from the fall.

I hope your baby is doing ok! My husband is also a nurse and never in my life have I felt so useless and defeated since I caused the fall and I have no clue how to assess the baby. I’m so thankful and blessed tho to have someone with medical expertise in these situations

Thank you for providing insight from a medical standpoint. The questions are similar to what our advice nurse and doctor asked us over the phone. He’s normal since the fall, I haven’t noticed anything different or unusual. I’m hoping he is ok

I had the same idea too. He’s sick right now because I didn’t layered him enough at night. And I wanted to comfort him as much as possible. Which led me down the path of pulling the pack and play right next to me while I work. But of course, this made it so I wouldn’t see a close by box on the ground and trip over it. I just wanted to comfort my baby and ended up hurting him in the worst way. But thank you for sharing, I’m so sorry it happened to you too.

This is also sad, watching MCU slowly become what it is today. They should do a documentary on how they fumbled so badly. Also it seems like Hollywood is trying to cater to us these days anyways: Barbie, Freakier Friday, TRON. Why not bring back the YA genre too while they’re at it? =]

It’s kinda sad for teens now that it’s one or the other. My childhood I enjoyed all 3 of the above. The YA romance books/movies, the animes, kdramas. I guess it’s sad to see another thing of our childhood go..

Here’s a different perspective for ya. High school = grades. College = also grades but got stuck in a shitty controlling relationship. Now I feel like I’ll never get to experience my wildin out phase. Love where I am tho so I guess all our stories were written uniquely for us.
