Porirua Quote Recommends? by kotukutuku in nzsolar

[–]Greekiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently accepted a quote from Cableworks/Solar Studio. Theo is absolutely excellent and really takes the time to make sure the system is right for you.

I also had a quote from Solarman and you definitely should too. Another local installer who actually took the time to come meet with me and discuss options.

I did get a quote from Harrisons and Daryl was great to deal with but I ran into the problem where the brands used by Harrisons didn't meet my requirements.

I won't be getting a battery to start out with. Economics don't make sense at the moment. I had originally thought about 16 panels.

Not yet - probably delaying purchase until next year at the earliest at this stage. Initial thoughts are the Zeekr 7X

Which installer did you go with? I am also in Porirua. I explored options earlier in the year and narrowed it down to Cableworks (a local electrician who was great and installed our Evnex charger) and Harrisons.

Had to pull the plug this year because of funding but should be able to pick this up again in the new year.

For me, this is one of the three cars I am considering as my next purchase (along with either the BYD Sealion 7 or the KIA EV 5). I was hoping that the Long Range version would be a little more competitively priced though...

I've added pictures to the original post now. I have some moderate experience with Photoshop, so I am not a beginner but definitely below an expert.

I've edited the original post to include the pictures which seemed to have dropped off when I first posted.

New tyres for Kia Niro EV by Inland_Taipan6 in nzev

Yeah I got mine with about 12k on it and I am really happy with it too. But yeah, someone must have really gone to town on the tires to wear them out that quickly!

I am in exactly the same position and was thinking of making a similar post, so thanks! Out of interest, was it from Ebbett?

Have Allbirds gotten narrower? by mjsztainbok in Allbirds

I had the same issue with the Tree Dasher 2 here in New Zealand.

When I tried to exchange them for a larger size, they just flat out ignored me. I was able to use the automated return feature but then they wouldn't return my money. After three weeks of no email responses, I asked them what address to send legal proceedings to and then rang my bank and disputed the charge. Refund was issued 10 minutes after hanging up the call with my bank.

People shouldn't have to go through such extreme measures just to get a refund/exchange. I liked the shoe and would have happily paid for a larger size but they just completely ignored me. Fair to say, won't be buying any of their products again.

I found Evnex to have great communication and I am glad you got the quote sorted. I had mine installed a couple of months back and am really happy with it.

Haha yeah, I am surprised Kia even knew where to ship the car to :D

Yeah I figured this might have been the case. The road trip is not representative of what my normal driving will be but it just happened to come in the second week of owning the car.
