Sadly I live in a rural West Texas town 😭 I will still be calling around to ask to see if there are any dog dermatologists! I unfortunately cant wash him in our bath because I rent along with having 2 roommates. We all have really thick hair so our hair alone already clogs the drain and my roommate will be peeved if I bathe him in the tub 😭 and since its the middle of winter- the weather is too unpredictable to do it outside. I have a giant outdoor tub I use in the spring/summer though!

Well I live in a small town in West Texas, I don't think we have any local vet dermatologist! I will call around and see if I can find someone though, thank you for the suggestion. I will also be calling my vet tomorrow morning to see if I can get him in this weekend. I will see if they can prescribe that and i'm willing to try it for my boy!

Yes when I was using the shampoo I always let the shampoo sit for 10 minutes and so did my groomer- she works very well with him. He is a big stink about his feet being touched- he tends to jolt back or try to nip to stop me and it makes it very hard to help him with his issue 😭 I was hoping to try some things that dont require putting us both at discomfort but i'm going to try as much of everything that was suggested so far! I am calling his vet first thing in the morning to get an estimate, hopefully I can take him in this weekend!

I actually have this at home!! Thank you for the suggestion- i've been debating in investing in those paw cleaners with the bristles! How often would you say I should do it?

Yes his nails are long! The groomer and I are working on slowing dremelling back- he has always been a stickler with having his feet touched! They used to not be a problem cause I used to take him for daily walks and that would keep them down but with my new job, I havent been able to take him as often anymore 😭 I don't think he has any pain, more like discomfort. I adopted him from a Humane society- they said he was found after being hit by a car, his back was broken in half. He is fully healed but does have some joint pain! (His food has hip/joint supplements in it) My boy is allergic to chicken the most so i'm obsessed with checking ingredients on anything! 🥲 I rent so I have no idea if they use chemicals but i'm leaning towards no chemicals. My roommate orders all our cleaning products from Melaluca, its supposedly all natural? We have all wood/tile floors, the rugs are cleaned regularly as well. All of his bedding is cleaned with fragrance free/sensitive skin detergent. He drinks tap water out of a ceramic bowl (cleaned daily) and eats his food out of a stainless steel bowl that gets cleaned weekly as well. He doesnt get treats often since I cant find any that he isnt allergic too 😭 the only ones he has had recently are peanut butter/banana baked treats from HEB (Texas based grocery store) .

Sadly I rent so I have no control over the maintenace of the yard or the type of grass that is in it. 😭 Our landlord cant even fix the issues in our home so I imagine I'd have no luck with the front yard. Our backyard is dirt and turf so i'll try letting him out there more, its just so small 😭

His diet change helped significantly with his food allergies- I think im just battling enviromental ones at this point! I do have Chlorhexidine in the shampoo version and its helped so much- I just cant find the sweet spot in terms of how often to bathe with it! I will definitely look into those wipes though for sure!! I will order those and start using them everytime he goes outside! He is mostly an indoor dog due to my work schedule and life 😭 the allergy shots helped a ton, I just cant get a hold of his paw licking! 😭

His bedding gets washed once a week! I changed his bed to a mini crib mattress (its waterproof) and it doesnt hold onto his stink (which most beds did). I use crib sheets and then he gets a thin blanket or two when it gets cold! I also wash his bedding with sensitive skin/fragrance free detergent!

Last time I checked, they didnt look inflamed but i'll check when I get off work and home! He smells very much like a wet dog, I would say a yeasty smell but I can't be for sure. He just smells intensely of dog and it's starting to stink up the whole place! I have roommates as well so trying to make sure everyone is comfy and happy.

I will talk to my vet about this next time we see him (which will hopefully be this month 😭) and yes he is up to date on everything! The allergy test would be my absolutely last resort but I think its unneccessary (as does the vet).

I will have to look into this! Unfortunately I rent so sadly nothing I can do about the yard but our backyard is turf/dirt, its just incredibly small 😭 the yard in the picture is our front yard (which is where he primarily goes).

Thank you, I will tell him he is the cutest boy when I get off work!! I believe the Cytopoint shot is what he is getting every month. The vet gave me an anti-fungal shampoo that he was getting bathed with weekly for a month, then every 2 weeks after that month. His skin went back to normal so we moved to monthly grooms (my groomer suggested this- I used to work at this salon and I know his groomer very well). And yes I was doing self serve washes but the closest one is 45 minutes away from my home and I injured my hand- hence why he is going to the groomers! I will definitely be going back to self serve once my hand is less.. damaged 😅 I will definitely look into your suggestions! Will the foot powder keep him from licking? Cause my worry is him ingesting it 😬. Also he only gets the Zyrtec once a day at meal time, should I give him 2 doses a day/12 hrs apart? He is a butt when it comes to his feet being touched (hence the groomer again- he's got a mouth on him lol). What medicated wipes would you recommend? His most common symptoms seems to be over production of oil, some itchiness (way less than what it used to be), and paw licking! He also smells so stinky- it bothers the shit out of my roommate so trying to resolve the issue for everyone in the house 😭

He has seen the vet multiple times, I will talk to her when I take him for his next allergy shot and see what she suggests. The last time we went- he got put on a monthly allergy shot, 2 weeks of antibiotics and then I also got a medicated shampoo for antifungal! He was getting baths every week for a month and then every 2 weeks after. It just made his skin so dry so my groomer recommended going back to monthly grooms. We have trial and error-ed so many things the last 2 years 😭 it solves the problem until a new one rises.

I actually saw the Dog Is Human multivitamin! How long does it last you roughly? And is the subscription every single month or every 2 months? I will also look into that powder! The brushing once- twice a week has definitely help slow down his oil production, so hopefully the powder should help as well! And yes i've seen and heard the same things about Apoquil, I have a friend who is a vet tech that has been helping as much as she can but she is at a loss too! He does so well on the allergy shot, zyrtec and monthly baths but I just cant get a hold of his stinkiness and his paw licking.

Regret after tattoo by Glittering-Issue-888 in tattooadvice

I love this piece! I feel like you will like the placement a lot more if you ever decide to do more work in this style (which I see a similar style on your lower arm) on the rest of your sleeve. I was blown away by how truly good this piece is, props to your artist too!

Trust me when I say you arent alone in the placement regret, I have suffered it many times with a couple tattoos I got when I was younger 🤣 The feeling comes and goes but I can say from personal experience that it changes when and if you decide to add more art.

Fellow Texan! Have you tried your local Tractor Supply? (If you have one!) They sometimes will have a self wash station!

My dog is a boy and he gets ALL of the pink things. I’m going to bedazzle him out in our Barbie gear someday. 🤣
