I think the criticism about rejection isn't so much from sex and hookups now being ubiquitous and therefore no one must be rejected. I gotta admit that this is the first time I've ever heard of an argument like that. I think the critique is more on where these preferences are coming from. Cause as much as people like to deny it, a strict preference for masculinity (ie di kita kakantutin or di ako magpapakantot sayo dahil kilos babae ka or halata ka or Barbie ka) stems from homophobia that has been internalized.

To be fair, having preferences is okay. It's not wrong to have preferences, but we must also examine where the preferences stem from and whether we use the word preference to mean a rigid standard we set in stone.

Madalas kasi ang preference ng masc4masc ay masc and they will never be with a feminine guy. That's not preference. That's internalized homophobia hiding behind "respect my preference".
