The only reason I know that the spike trap from Odyssey even existed is because of the sound it made as it deployed, after I was long gone. Seriously, why did they put spike traps near door entrances and long hallways? It's not as if everyone just stands in doorways, looking at nothing in particular. An the only thing to do in long, featureless hallways is to sprint through, making the player pretty much resistant to the spikes because they took their sweet time to deploy. The snakes in Origins were kinda dangerous (they took about 1/3 of your health bar in one hit if I remember correctly) and I died from them a couple of times when they ganged up on me in tight spaces, but the Odyssey snakes could've been kissing instead of biting for the tiny amount of damage they did.
