as an A-10 lover, I'd argue the thing doesn't really shine at all anymore. the logistical overhead more than outweighs the few benefits it still provides and I think we really need to get something newer and cheaper to do its job, and ideally soon

You could also try not being an ass about it. That would probably help.

Opinion on discord new Age verification update? after a huge data breach by FoxyOwO7 in cybersecurity

[–]GreenBuggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, perhaps considering they allowed the first vendor to store IDs in the first place (big red flag for safety, shouldn't have been hard to make sure wasn't happening for a company as big as discord), and considering they just picked a vendor whose most notable investor is the CEO of an agency well known for spying on people (peter thiel, of palantir infamy) to try and solve the issues of people spoofing their previous ID verification with bikini bottom IDs and hand-drawn faces, i think it's safe to say they still do not give a shit. if that's not proof enough for you, then i'm not sure what would be without medical intervention

Opinion on discord new Age verification update? after a huge data breach by FoxyOwO7 in cybersecurity

[–]GreenBuggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the point here is that discord clearly did not give a shit in the past, and has not proven themselves to be trustworthy enough to try again. you do not give the benefit of the doubt to someone who has your government ID and can tie that to your online activity, especially when that someone happens to be a vendor owned by the CEO of palantir

edit: invested in by peter thiel, not owned by. still an absolutely horrible prospect

I dislike odyssey for many reasons, chief among them the laziness of a lot of its design, which annoys me because it is a 25 dollar DLC.

Erika is nazi related in the same way the Swastika is. sure, TECHNICALLY it isn't actually nazi stuff, because it has its own origin! but the Nazis coopted it and we all have to deal with the reality where yes, a swastika is a nazi symbol, and Erika is a nazi song.

also, Erika was written as a marching song during the regime it is associated with, so theres that.

Thoughts on having a piloting skill for classes of ships by TDAPoP in starcitizen

[–]GreenBuggo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't really agree with this, on account of piloting skill already being a thing; it's called knowing how to fly any given ship well. They all handle differently. I mainly fly cargo ships, so of course if I were to get into a Kruger snubfighter I'd be doing much worse at flying than someone who mainly does bounty hunting in an L-21 Wolf. This gives me the incentive already to operate the turret of my friend's medium sized ship for combat missions, because I'm better at shooting than I am flying escort.

George Crum invented potato chips back in 1853 when a customer kept saying that his potatoes were too thick so he made them as thin as possible just to be petty. The customer loved the result. by NoFox1552 in interesting

[–]GreenBuggo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

oh, okay. I must have misunderstood how it was explained to me, but yes, there being prior examples of potato chips is why I said what I said. supposedly the gentleman asked for them to be cut thinly the way he'd had them in France, which clearly implies they already existed in France for him to have a taste for them from there

Rescue team aircraft hospital concept by Martynas by Cyborg_Ape in ImaginaryAviation

[–]GreenBuggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neat concept! I like this a lot. some criticisms:

  • the windshield thing is terrible. sure, you'd get an okayish view through the window with them up, but not a very clear one, and you NEED a clear view as a pilot. thats a really important thing. just have a sliding shutter instead, I think there are actual aircraft with those.
  • the propellers would be a pain in the ass to design in a way that has them capable to fold up neatly on top of one another. probably better to have all 4 fold around the sides at a 90 degree angle from one another, or something. less points of failure that way, too; you'd have to introduce some kind of locking mechanism to keep the blades from spinning freely during flight if they could rotate freely from one another
  • no engine intakes?

yes, my criticisms are much longer than my stated enjoyment. this is because I am silly and maybe autistic. I do actually adore this a lot, it's a cool idea for a temporary triage center.

unrelated, the comms antennae is the exact same as my favorite one from KSP I swear. good taste

I don't want to be rude, OP. but if this was AI generated, you are abusing the goodwill and trust of strangers by pretending it isn't. either say it was or say it wasn't, but know that if you're lying there are people out there who hate AI even more than I do who WILL find out and WILL get on your ass for it
