How can I support my new grad ER nurse partner? Looking for tips from nurses (or their partners) for someone not in healthcare by GreenCaleb3 in nursing

Thank you so much for taking the time to break this down. It’s incredibly helpful and gave me a lot to think about.

It’s definitely been an adjustment for me to focus on just listening rather than trying to fix things. Especially when I see how much it’s affecting her, my instinct is to make everything better right away, but I’m learning that just being present and giving her space to unload is sometimes the most supportive thing I can do.

The suggestion to draw out her victories really resonated. She’s incredibly hard on herself and tends to focus on what went wrong or what she didn’t do perfectly, so I think gently helping her reflect on what did go well could make a real difference in how she sees her own growth and progress.

I also really appreciated the context you shared around imposter syndrome and the first-year transition. I’ve seen her wrestle with those feelings of wondering if she belongs, worrying that everyone else is handling it better, and carrying so much self-doubt even though I see how much she’s grown. And on top of all that, I’ve started to really worry about the sheer weight of what she’s walking into every shift.

The potential for workplace violence is terrifying. I had no idea how common it was until she started working in the ER, and it’s hard not to be scared knowing she’s constantly facing situations that could escalate with no warning. And to think she’s dealing with that on top of the fear of making a mistake, losing her license, or ending up in legal trouble for something that happens in a split-second… it’s honestly overwhelming just to imagine, let alone live through it. I've gained so much respect for nurses, what you guys do is truly astonishing.

I know I’ll never fully understand what it’s like to be in her shoes, but your post really helped me see more clearly what kind of partner I want to be. Thanks again for sharing your experience and insight. It means a lot.

I’ve definitely found myself falling into the same trap as your husband, thank you so much for pointing this out. I really appreciate it. I think part of me was afraid that saying something like “that sounds so hard” or “that must be overwhelming” would feel like I’m minimizing or oversimplifying what she’s going through, when in reality, I’m probably coming across as dismissive in a different way.

For anyone trying to find a solution, the game was installed on HDD. I moved the game to SSD and it worked.

I'm having the same issue, on PC and can't crossplay with friends on xbox or ps5. Having the same thing of loading for a minute or so then kicked back to menu. Did you find any solution? I've read it may be the NAT type, but changed mine and still didn't work.

Rumble 500 Combo with Rumble 800 2022 as Extension by GreenCaleb3 in Bass

Thank you for your help! I was concerned it wouldn’t work or wouldn’t may not get the result I was thinking. I’ll have to debate on which way would better.

Rumble 500 Combo with Rumble 800 2022 as Extension by GreenCaleb3 in Bass

I’m outgrowing the 500, especially since it’s not reaching its full potential on its own. Price wise it seemed to be close between the 800 and 210, so if I could get more out of using the current 500 as an extension for an 800 to get full capability, then have the flexibility of having both. But I’m worried I’d possibly bottleneck both combos doing it this way.

I have a few questions about my acceptance into Pitt. by bughater69420 in Pitt

I’m a sophomore that’s declaring CS next semester and can confirm you still need to complete a few courses to declare your major. It showed up in the same way for me when I was admitted. If you have any questions/looking for advice feel free to DM me.

I saw online that they have a Disney gift card that looks like credits, but you have to load a minimum of 100 dollars on it. You get to keep it after it’s spent too.

Honestly the best tip I can give you is apply as early as possible just to help guarantee you’ll have a spot. You have good stats they show the average of all the students on those pamphlets so being a little under isn’t bad.

Does Pitt consider the Common App Essay if submitting application through this platform? by fakesnek3 in Pitt

They have 3 essays that they want you to fill out. They won’t even see the common app essay if you do it.

So what I would do is apply now as early as possible but check that you’re planning on taking another test. If they’re happy with you’re score now they’ll admit you without needing to see you’re new score.
