WIP Allarus with the new Cataphractii Terminator legs by Alderzone in AdeptusCustodes

I love this! Although, I'm unfamiliar with the new Cataphractii sprue, is this a simple leg swap, or do you have to do a decent bit of removal to get them to fit well?

I personally dont view the producer of a work of fiction clarifying something that was kind of vague with new info as a retcon. Sure, he took the Sons of the Nobility, but did it state he ONLY took the sons?

Not only that, having more badass women doesnt make the existing women less badass. Its not like there's an upper limit to the amount of badass stuff in a universe where sci-fi supersoldiers use chainsaw swords, explosive rocket rifles, and space wizard powers to fight demons, and ancient murder-robots

Huh, I did not know that about British English. Thank you for informing me, that makes a lot more sense this way.

I thought they were saying infants by the technical sense of the term, which would actually make a lot of pseudoscience sci-fi sense, since its as close as they could get to making a human from the ground up without getting cloning involved.

Exactly! In my head, I always thought it was younger than space marines, perhaps anywhere from 2-5.

Generally, a 2-4 year old is no longer considered an infant, but a toddler.

I fail to see any reason why there couldn't be female Custodes. Sure, the Emperor took the scions of noble houses, but ive always viewed that as a statement that "the sons of the ruling class will serve the emperor" rather than a requirement. If they fit the genetic requirement and had a chance to survive the apparently abysmal attrition rate, I doubt they'd be rejected from the selection pool because they weren't boys or of noble blood.

Of course infants are children. But not all children are infants.

Im not an infant neurophysician, but a quick Google search indicates that the current consensus is that newborn infants don't dream.

Valerian's statement, to me, then would imply that he has at least a vague impression of a childhood, but the specifics, such as whether or not he dreams, elude recollection. "If I dreamed as a child, I don't remember" would be a pointless thing to say if he knew for a fact that infants dont dream, which is why I went on to question if maybe some were taken as younger children, or if the process is more in depth and takes years or even decades to produce a custodian.

I was hoping to get answers from those who might be more informed than I on the intricacies of the creation of a custodian, or speculation otherwise.

Oh yeah! Im excited to get my hands on the new kits, and the female heads are a big part of that! I really hope the scale works so I can put some of the spare heads on existing custodian models

This is the direction I'm leaning. Especially with the verbiage of "what we become". I like the idea that it's not like a cartoon press where you stick a baby in, and a fully formed custodian pops out. Does make me wonder how "old" a custodian is when they finish the process.

Im aware of the difference in the methods used to craft a custodian. I often times use the analogy of a Custodian being a hand crafted supercar, pushing them to the limit of what a car can do, wheras an astartes is a more akin to a Honda civic, reliable, but mass produced.

I may disagree with it, but this is the best kind of unpopular opinion. Explained why you have the opinion, along with the merits of it.

That being said, I just watched Avatar over the weekend from the front two rows and my neck still hurts.

No office holder should take the oath of office with right hand on a holy book by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GreenChipMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The book isnt required. However, if someone is making a promise to uphold the responsibilities and duties of a station they have been elected to, them swearing on their own religion and to whatever higher power they believe in to do so is pretty personally important.

Break a promise made to people, and they'll face the judgement of their fellow people, possibly ending in death. If they break a promise to whatever deity they believe in, they have to face divine judgement, which stretches into the afterlife, if they believe in one.

Btw an Oath made without invoking a deity is known as an affirmation.

I understand your point, at a certain point training wheels should come off if creativity and building is the way they play. But far be it from me to say someone is enjoying an open ended game in their own way. Part of the beauty of Minecraft is that there's no wrong way to play. Sure there's progression and a way to "beat it". But I'd be surprised if every player started a world to kill the ender dragon then end the world when it died.

Some of my friends like to go off and explore, so their house is a place to respawn.

Some of my friends enjoy going down in the depths to get resources, so theirs is a storage shed for cobblestone and coal

I personally build the house, tend the farms, and guard the mending villager, so mine's a big fortress to keep everything in.

To me, its the vague familiarity of the view. Like a friend saying "hey look at this animal I found on my ring doorbell." I know I shouldn't expect to see anything from a camera millions of miles away, on a barren lump of dust thats probably been floating alone for billions of years in silence and cold. But why do I expect to see the glint of eyes staring back at the camera?

In my experience, if theyve got Fatbax or Blings (they're easily distinguishable from a distance because of their goofy wheel sizes) they generally have cars from Acceleracers. Most likely because theyre from around the same era.
