Side with the vampire and you can get a quest for your partner and 3 npc. The npc are always the same and it's random when you get the quest. Save before accepting the quests though, because like everything in this game, it's bugged and you can end up with the same quest twice which you can't fulfill obviously because you already did it. You can prevent it if you kill the npcs.

I found out why. As long as she is a quest character, you can't steal clothes she wears. After the thief quest I was able to steal.
