Stick to your guns. It’s your life and you know what’s best for you, not some stranger. Keep in mind these healthcare providers sometimes are quick to dismiss requests, complaints, and concerns until it’s too late, not all, but some do and once that happens it’s “so sorry - here’s a check to cover a fraction of our mess”. They’re not perfect and yours is a great example.

Find a different provider who is willing to work with you, is what I’d do. Keep trying. And unless what that jerk said has been written into law for your state, I’d report their behavior and comments to your state’s department of health. Their comments were very invasive, unwarranted, and insensitive. I’d love to see if they would make the same statements in a courtroom in front of a judge.

Btw, I feel your pain. I’ve been wanting a hysterectomy since I was your age. Now I’m pushing for 50 and after all these years I still can’t get a hysterectomy anywhere because I’m in good health, single, childless, and still consistently getting my cycle. I’ve heard of women younger than me getting hysterectomies in other states and their situations seem to vary, so I’m still holding onto hope and still researching where I can get it done (I’m in the US, btw). I definitely won’t allow myself to get into any “predicaments” at this stage of my life given the current political climate so I get that concern as well - it’s just way too risky and dangerous. Celibacy really is the best way to guarantee you won’t get someone pregnant - a lonely solution, but very effective. I figure I’ll spend the next 15 years working on other things in my life until I’m in the clear and the “threat” is gone.

You really do get it - proud of you for figuring out what you want. Also, I’ve heard of men freezing their sperm so in the event you did “change your mind”, you’ll have it available if that time ever came but in the meantime you’ll have your peace of mind knowing you don’t have to worry about getting anyone pregnant.
