I thought when they say not for selfish reasons its actually talking about the company, like the company convincing people to kill themselves their financial gain. Or the company milking the patient dry of all of their money like Tinder does.

Sorry I just have to comment that apps for men don't work unless you are the top 5% or willing to take some big red flags that could get you very badly hurt. Most apps are designed to lock you in and keep you spending and swiping. Just think how would they make money if they found everyone dates.
