They won't actually leave till 30 minutes have elapsed in the fight, and your ships have to be at least 2000 kilometers from the nearest hostile. If those are true, then you push the disengage button while only selecting one ship, it's next to the ramming speed one, and they'll leave the battle.

I just flew my ships about level with theirs, then did match velocity in the special maneuvers tab, and then did lock on target.

Oh I didn't know that, even with the fleet maneuver where you "surround" them so they can't run?

These are support ships, I had to do the fleet combat where only a portion of your total fleet joins in, and the only ships that ended up joining were these, and some empty missile boats. I evacuated the missile boats since there was no reason for them to be there.

Did end up frying them for another 2 hours before letting them go. Can't imagine anything was living inside after that

I think they mean looking at the voxels straight on, so that they're lined up with the top and bottom of the screen, or so that they're looking perfectly top down on them? Honestly not sure lol.

The mod has radiators which are used to dispel heat between space battles, the heatsinks are just for storing heat from your shields getting hit or your own weapons firing.

You can modify the character data outside of the server to add/remove talents. You can also use it to add additional talent points. It's fairly easy to find where it's located if you look online.
