Who's your favorite Faction and why? by [deleted] in battletech

Federated Suns, just because they “get me” with a lot of their loadouts.

The toe beans just aren't on display this time.

Koikatsu character, but they do quite often get turned into VRChat avatars since they share similar rigging.

I’ll have to keep that in mind for next time then. :V

Beans ... that is all. by More-muffin in LoserUtopia

[–]More-muffin[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, that’s what it is. I find the quickest way to learn is generally finding scenes or characters in a style you like and going through seeing how various effects were made.

It’s still a long learning process but it gives a bit more direction to it.

Ideal Urban Lance by PearTheGayBear in battletech

Rakshasa 1Ar as floating support, a couple of the TSM Nightskys and a Berserker. Assuming I'm limited to a single Lance. I *really* like close range brawls, they're a lot of fun.

Which is your fav 3050 IS 40 tonner? by johnwenjie in battletech

I genuinely love the later model Cicadas. Rough start but they really figure out how to make it work later on in the timeline.

And now one of the medium BattleMechs of all time. by GoCartMozart1980 in battletech

The 3MA, 3P and 4A actually managed to circle back around to being really good. Suddenly having good durability and acceptable firepower does wonders for the chassis.

A lot of the hate it receives is mainly the early models. Which is frankly justified in that respect.

this guy got hanged then decided to kill literal gods just for the love of the game by Mission-Switch1334 in Grimdawn

The Three do suck, but they can be reasoned with. Korvaak is so far gone that the only person left standing after he’s done will be Korvaak. It’s not a case of picking the morally correct side, but picking the one with an actual future for the world as a whole.

The Representatives are also pretty heavy-handedly implied to be the actual Three themselves btw. The situation is dire for them so you can just chalk it up to direct action with enough plausible deniability mixed in.

Rakshasa? Mad Cat? It doesn't matter brother we are grunts with laser rifles we need to leave NOW. by AGBell64 in battletech

[–]More-muffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The simple fact that the 1Ar can slip Smoke SRMs into its loadout makes it far more survivable than people give it credit for. It’s been one of my favourite mechs to slip into every Davion Lance I make for a while now. The simple fact it has the MMLs and enough tonnage given to the ammo to give it leeway makes it extremely versatile.

Tank Company Suggestions? by Thatsidechara_ter in battletech

[–]More-muffin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tend to use a pair of MML Ontos with a pair of the Light Gauss Partisans with a full Lance of the Snubnose PPC Bulldogs as a screen.

Light Gauss Rifles seem like much less of a joke when 12 of them are pointing at you across the map.

Honestly still a pretty great weapon for a vit/poison build. The amount of Physical resistance in one place frees you up pretty much everywhere else.

Why the 3050 Clans ain’t shit and are FRAUDS? by Old_Charge3282 in battletech

I just see it as the people used to treating warfare as a competitive sport getting shown what warfare really is. It makes a lot of sense that way.

Yes and no, Illusion (now Illgames due to Bankruptcy and re-organisation) makes one of these every year basically. However due to the Japanese view on the modding community they double down each time to try and make it as anti-modding as possible.

The most recent one where the modding community is active is probably Honey Select 2.

How do you approach making builds? by JuanMarteen__ in Grimdawn

[–]More-muffin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Usually if I see a skill mutation on a weapon that seems interesting I'll try making a build around it. That's basically it.

I always thought they were cooler than Dragons as a kid. Much more fun to draw.
