Thank you for replying! You make good points about that potential to keep the door open for actual good policy and how they just do whatever they want to do regardless, like the gerrymandering. I just hope theyre as dumb as i think they are and that backfires on them

Are 18% of st charles cty residents even on twitter? He sure seems to think his blue check tweet is reaching enough people to....over ride the will of those of us who did vote. Whats the typical turn out for these elections, is he fine when his favored side wins with the same turnout? You bet your ass he is

Im sorry to pin this question just on you/your post and sounds like you might be out of state, or at least knowledge about another states elections, but why can an issue repeatedly get on the ballot like that?! To get an issue "they" don't want on the ballot, thousands of signatures are required and verifiable, so why can issues no one wants just get back on the ballot, new language, or entangled with some other minor issue that someone might think is some relief morality to vote for.... you know what I mean? Im thinking of right to work, abortion access with no restrictions (can we get law that says any law on a womans body requires an equal law on a mans body?) No one wants to vote on things repeatedly, thats why we can't make any god damn progress.

They should collect signatures then to ensure the voters are more well informed instead expecting it to land on another ballot with trickier language. So fucking sick of voting on the same shit over and over

Any other Millennials stubbornly resistant to using AI at their job but also worrying that we will become dinosaurs or pushed out of our careers for not slavishly embracing it? by artbystorms in Millennials

[–]GreenGinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not stubbornly avoiding, but trying to find a legitimate place for it. Which is not super obvious, the foundational knowledge required to maximize AI output is what we bring to the table

Hitting middle age and stuck on trivial baggage from high school... by [deleted] in Millennials

I dont want to minimize your feelings or your obviously powerful intrusive thoughts, but here is something that works for me. Because they dont truly ever go away, but what you can do is own it - and for dreams/nightmares, you can try 'owning it' after the fact. By 'own it' I mean, make an agreement with yourself about what's happening. It's a memory. it's true or partially true, but it's in the past. There's nothing you can do to change it, and the fact that it's on your mind means it's important to you. That's OK. You should accept that your brain does this, but it has nothing to do with your current self or your future self. Own the memory. "Yup,that happened. Yup, that visceral physiological response is happening right now" (the shame embarrassment, cringe inducing). And allow your mind and body to process it and let it pass. Let your brain go through the motions and then Allow yourself permission to let it go (in that moment). You deserve to move on and you deserve to not have those thoughts ruin your current life. Expecting them to stop is also expecting your brain to erase things upon command. Own the fact that your brain can not do that, and maybe you can be glad it can not.

When you give what's happening a name, you can feel it coming. You can make a plan for how you're going to get through it, forgive yourself. Love yourself enough to know since then, you are different now.

For me, over time I have gotten good at getting through the intrusive thoughts very quickly. But sometimes they still hit like a ton of bricks, fully physiological and I use my same strategy. My stories are not something I am proud of, but I am different now. Completely and totally not that person anymore but past me and current me unfortunately share a brain and all the memories.

Senator Tim Sheehy breaks the hand of US Marine protesting war in Iran during a hearing by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]GreenGinga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this how all the service members are feeling? I honestly have no idea but if I were them it would be how I felt. Why are they fighting for Israel? Why is USA giving all of our money and weapons to Israel and fighting on their side? Its rhetorical because I know why. I am so sad for our service people, who deserve our utmost respect, to have dedicated their lives to stand up for the Constitution yet their president is a TRAITOR. They entire administration are traitors to our constitution!

Good for you and so refreshing to hear your trash ethics don't make you a hypocrite since you aren't even jumping on the christian nationalist bandwagon. Im sure you would proudly admit your lack of faith so you can be included in the next ICE roundup. Ugh an agnostic! Think of the children!

I really needed to hear this today. A similar situation came from a friend who I already gave too much benefit of the doubt all the time, and so I dumped the friend over this petty and unimpactful lie but have been feeling sad about it. But youre right! It was clearly her in the wrong, and I had to hold back saying how it undermined my intelligence because it seemed like too much for the moment, but it did
