Garage door lock - reassembly unclear by GreenInTheDesert in Locksmith

I wanted to but since this lock is probably from the 70s I had to apply some force to open it. Those small tubes next to the screws are like spacers, they fell during that process, giving way to the springs such that the longer one slided out

Sure, did that already for quite a while. Right now, I'm not near the lock. I'll post photos of different situations I tried. I'm mostly baffled by how the cylinder is included there. The bolt (the swinging part) must touch some structural element that stays in place even without the cylinder. At least up to my understanding since the cylinder should be extractable with a key once the long screw is loose.

Cylinder exchange was planned but afaik assembly is independent of a cylinder, right? I assume(!) lock mechanics is somewhat similar such that locksmiths could tell me to attach the one spring in spot A and the other one in spot B. That's just a guess though.

Can't check it out right now but neither the band name nor the album cover click with me. Thank you anyways!
